The town of Sequim is in the rain shadow of the Olympic Peninsula, and so gets only the same amount of rain as LA, about 18 inches per year.
Patrick if you like forest area and dont mind some snow check out Coeur d'Alene, or if you want to be near boise but in wilderness Payette Lake area is nice to.
Patrick,
why Pacific Northwest, and not a more reasonable State such as TX, FL, AZ, UT?
Coeur d'Alene is a hop and a skip and is paradise on earth.
Two reasons:
1. I really love rainy weather and hate the sun.
2. No state income tax.
No State income tax in TXWhat they don't have in income tax in Tx they make up in property taxes. You probably don't get a raise every year, but if your home keeps going up every year, which doesn't do you any good, you're going to be taxed accordingly.
For example, the Great Lakes region offers excellent sailing during the peak season

My RE taxes were decreasing last 2 years but this year I will get reamed by 10% increase.

I forgot - another reason I considered moving to TX is because my brother lives there, but when I visited him, he told me about his outrageous property tax and said he was going to retire and move back up to Michigan.
He's in Houston for now.
Initial impressions:
The physical beauty of the landscape is world class.
Almost everyone is white. Kind of striking when you come from the Bay Area, where white people are a persecuted minority.
There is a lot of homophilia and some BLM thug flags, but even so, there are visible Trump supporters and some stores where the owners are actively resisting mask idiocy.
Many of the women are ham beasts with tattoos and purple hair, but still a minority. There are also many beautiful and pleasant women.
The economy is not very good. A lot of towns seem a bit impoverished. Not poor, but not rich.
People are friendlier than in the Bay Area.
