Think of a frontier chick or hell, a Irish washerwoman from Brooklyn in 1890. That's NOT what it is. Germany has a long history of absolute rule in statelets by Archbishops, Burghermeisters, and petty Princes who were able to control relatively small areas with unbelievable amounts of bureaucracy and autocracy. Germans are not Vikings, free as the waves, but the epitome of the overcivilized rule follower, and have been since the Renaissance. They have always happily conformed into Armies as human cannon fodder when the Archbishop of Mainz thought that the Margrave of Meissenburg deserved to give him the Mill on the Stream Pflatzenpfluffer.
