Average age of vehicles hits all-time high
And then there is all this annoying why-tech wizardry: lane warning, lane assist, collision warning, emergency brake assist, this assist, that assist...... can I just fucking be left alone to drive in peace?

Get yourself one of these:
There are about 20,000 Model As roaming the USA. Easy to work on and parts are readily available.
Nah, this is too slow and brakes are shit.
Well, there is always this. The '32 Ford V8 was the original hot rod
But even your "sweet spot" 1990-2007 cars often have drum brakes in the rear.
Rear is ok. The front does most of the braking anyway.
OK, now you are on the slippery slope to the complexities of ABS and autonomous breaking......
I'm not on any kind of slope.
Autonomous breaking is when the cars front radar/sonar detects an imminent collision and applies the brakes. Honda/Acura stated that in production models around 2003-2004.
Are they still doing the retarded every other seat in the terminal before packing people in like sardines cheek to jowl using the HEPA filter bullshit story?
Most contractors are pretty booked and now just reschedule, no-show and cancel on a whim even if they work for a larger corp.
I once hired a maid to help with housework, but my wife spent so much time cleaning before the maid came that she didn't want any more maids.
My laptop is dying too, and I looked into the Dell XPS 13, but guess what? Six week lead time because of supply chain issues, and they won't even commit to six weeks.
Dell XPS 13That's the one I use. Had to buy it about a year ago when the reconditioned one I'd bought about six years earlier for $750--which worked to perfection, the best computer I ever had--began showing a "low power notice" every morning. Plus, I had been using Windows 7 from time immemorial with no problem either.

Hmmm, explains why I couldn't find Sucralose in two stores last weekend...
Another shortage: Best Buy looked like the day after Christmas. Things like USB Hubs, Bluetooth Adapters, etc. half empty shelves.
Ammo is back, but there is less choice and prices are higher than before the shortages by about 20-40%.
No printers except a handful left. Ink and Toner unavailable for popular models. Looked on Amazon and Office Depot, they did not have them either. Was Cannon 72? something I think.

You do need a pretty good laser printer to make your vax card.
I've noticed a shortage of affordable housing. :)

You mean rent-free is not affordable enough? :)

From a reader:
I was interested in getting a phone with good privacy, the Librem, but they can't say when it will be available because they can't get parts.
