Semiautomatic .22 is also effective once you put enough holes through someone. But there's nothing like a 12 with buckshot for stopping power available to the public.

Even BB guns are not toys. Get the proper training.

The one thing I like is that you pretty much never miss at reasonably close range. Also, the shot doesn't go all that far, so you're less likely to kill a random person.

One reason full approval was urgent is that the numbers coming out of Israel show a 39% efficacy. FDA approval requires a 50% rate for vaccine approval.
Another thing that has come up is EUA approval is contingent on there being no other FDA approved interventions. So how do they keep giving Moderna and J$J Zyclon Jabs if the Pfizer shot is FDA approved?

I want a taurus judge - hand held 5 shooter 410 shotgun. She might like it too, as a pistol might be easier to maneuver in close quarters, assuming she can deal with the weight and recoil. But, Both the 3" and 6.5" barrel versions are so short, they spread the shot quickly, making it real easy to hit a moving target in close range.

Not allowed in commiefornia though.

Fauci, the FDA, NIH, and CDC have been actively murdering American citizens for a long time now by continuing the EUA for the dangerous vaxx even though Ivermectin is provably effective and available.

20 gauge is about the max I would go with a woman that size. The 410 is for sure good.

If you can get a pistol caliber carbine, that would be even better. Things are getting crazy right now because of the new Russian ammo import ban. This ban basically cut off 40% of the ammo consumed by US gun owners. You have to decide on a caliber to get and it may be something you have no choice in. You have to get a gun chambered in a caliber that you can get. I would even consider one of those goofy looking Rossi wheel carbines if I were in your situation (they can shoot 410 or 45 Colt).

Check out the pawn shops (out of state included if you travel) and see if you can find an old Hi-Point 995 (9mm) or 4595 (45 ACP). You can legally buy a long gun in any state. You cannot however buy a handgun at an out of state FFL. You have to have a handgun shipped to a FFL in CA if you find it out of state.

I know that the 38 Super is very popular south of the border but not popular here in the USA. I just bought a Rock Island Armory 1911 chambered in 38 Super (California compliant). I know Aguila and Armscor makes ammo for it. Super 38 out performs 9 mm and the Super 38 is a native caliber for the 1911.

The 1911 uses a single action trigger and many people (me included) prefer it over a striker fired handgun. Striker fired handguns like the Glock are fine if you train to it.

If your goal is to defeat body armor, you have to go with a rifle. Another possible solution for armored home invaders would be a lever gun chambered in 45-70 or a good semi-auto Bushmaster 450.

An old Marlin 336 chambered in 357 magnum or 30-30 can be a good HD carbine with enough practice.

@Patrick - going through a safety course is regardless a good idea. I grew up around guns as a kid, but I'd still recommend a safety course.

My grandfather was a hunter. I was conditioned to think that a gun is always loaded, is always about to go off by accident, and anything I point at will be shot. I have been conditioned to the point that I'm uncomfortable pointing a toy gun at a person and that's a good thing.

Go to a shooting range. A LOT are closed because of this "pandemic"... Take your wife with you. I suspect I know how she thinks, that harming somebody and even possibly killing them is disgustingly repulsive to her. That is not how a criminal thinks. If she had to shoot and kill a possibly violent criminal, she's doing society a favor and I understand she would probably view this as repulsive thinking. It's just the world as it is.

Your wife will VERY likely enjoy shooting, once she does it. She has to stop thinking "this kills people" and start thinking "this is powerful, but I won't abuse that power".

Airguns I think are entirely unregulated I believe in all of the United States. Airguns aren't toys either, they are still used as a sniper's weapon. I don't know if they can be charged indefinitely though, but I DO know, they can easily kill a human being. Fully automatic airguns exist. They have lower muzzle velocity so range is more limited, but I don't think you're looking for long range.

Airguns are also quieter - but they aren't quiet. If you shot a .44 magnum without ear protection, you'd be deaf for a minimum of several minutes. That's not good in a dangerous situation.

Good point. That's quite a dilemma. I remember with the guns we used back then that it was like switching off your hearing and replacing it with a loud ringing sound for a while. Not sure what to do about that in an emergency situation. Might not have time to find and put on ear protection at that moment, and it would also weaken your ability to hear what's going on.

Some people say that a 0.22 is better to use in a situation. Not as likely to kill, but it sure hurts. When I was a kid a 0.22 wouldn't leave me deaf, but that was 40 years ago.

You don't have to kill, you have to stop, and people can work through pain, in that event, you have to possibly kill.

A weapon is a serious thing, and anybody that wields one should understand that. It's deadly serious, literally and figuratively.

Remember when Oscar Pistorius killed his girlfriend by shooting her when she was locked in the bathroom? He most likely did that in rage, after an argument. He was just very angry, and didn't really consider the consequences of his actions.

Treat a gun like a bomb. It may not just kill another person, once it kills that person, it might very well kill you. Pistorius is likely to die in poverty. He destroyed his life with that killing over what was most likely some goddamned argument. I'm sure he regrets what he did, but he ended a life. Fuck him.

I strongly believe in the 2nd amendment, but it's quite a power to be able to take a life. You better be sane to own such a weapon. Pistorius I think had a mental break for a few minutes. You can't do that if you have such a weapon.

So pharmacies are all now requiring dx codes for IVM. Wont fill if c19 related. Naturally if you are concerned about use of veterinary products, what you want to do is aggressively cut off human grade use under medical supervision. This sort of strategy has always worked out well
