Large clinical trials have demonstrated the overall safety of vaccines for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). However, reports have emerged of autoimmune phenomena, including vaccine-associated myocarditis,1 immune thrombocytopenia,2 and immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia.3 4 Here we present a novel case of a young woman who developed life-threatening autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) after her first dose of a SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccine. Notably, initial direct antiglobulin testing was negative using standard anti-IgG reagents, which are “blind” to certain immunoglobulin (IgG) isotypes. Further testing using an antiglobulin reagent that detects all IgG isotypes was strongly positive and confirmed the diagnosis of AIHA. The patient required transfusion with 13 units of packed red blood cells, as well as treatment with corticosteroids, rituximab, mycophenolate mofetil, and immune globulin. As efforts to administer SARS-CoV-2 vaccines continue globally, clinicians must be aware of potential autoimmune sequelae of these therapies.

Ugh, getting caught up on travel to Puerto Rico and USVI restrictions. Still need to be tested regardless of your vaccine status. I'm a dick, but sneaked into the wife's email and found out she got one jab already. Pretty pissed, but I'm not gonna fight about it. Her body and she has life insurance. Love her, but not worth the fight over it.

She seems off and more agitated. Everyone in the house now has the sniffles and cough about 5 days after the first jab for her. Change of seasons here can do that, just strange timing from her getting the first jab. Not blaming it on the vaccine, but she got it thinking it would make her life easier. Nope... we still need to be tested to get into PR and USVI.

If vaccines where safe and effective the goal post moving should stop. It hasn't. It has gotten worse. The infection rate at my kids school is on par with the general public, most of which don't wear masks, yet my kids are forced to wear masks. There is no following science at this point. This is control and politics. Not much else to it. Our governor is openly campaigning using Covid response as a positive thing he's helped with.

Fully agreed. Since this is personal for me right now I had to think about strategy and at least the pediatrician said let's look at the data from.tje trial for kids first. Here is what I going to do. If the usual bs comes out aka "safe and effective" abd side effects "rare" I will have any MD, school rep or the parent involved go on a recorded video stating the SAE ratio from the trial and that the SAEs from the trial are mathatically lesser than the 1 in one million chance of a kid dying from covid. Pure math, no fuzzy words. And should they refuse I will have the refusal recorded. Then I will tell them on any positive recommendation or coercion I will sue to the fullest extent for willfully lying against the mathematical facts amd endangering children amd promoting the maiming and genocide thereof. Gotta boil it down to numbers and numbers only.

They're idiots. As I've said the district my kids are in are getting infected at the same rate as the general populous in our area. Most people stopped wearing masks, even indoors with new mandates. Our kids are forced to wear them and there's talk of them getting vaccinated. My son in friends with the state rep family for our district. I'm may let my distaste for the situation be known.

I hate putting my ass out there, but this isn't normal. We're doubling down on testing, masking and control, yet we still have a high rate of cases her in IL. Maybe we try it another way for fucks sake. There is no science on a NOVEL corona virus. Data backs up we're not doing the right thing. If masks worked and parents getting vaccinated work, 3% of my kids school shouldn't be getting infected while wearing a mask. It's the same rate pre-vax. Nothing is working. Just let the fucking thing spread and deal at this point. Can't avoid death forever. It's coming.

You're not wrong. It's part of the data to examine things though. While a district is being forced to wear masks and the infection rate is the same as the general population, it's legit scientific evidence. Masks don't work. Many adults are vaccinated, yet infection rate is similar between masked kids at the school and mostly unmasked adults in my area.

There's plenty of math and data to prove this is bull shit. Problem is you get censored. Even more telling that it's all bull shit.

Another red herring is hospitalizations. It's already been revealed that almost half of people hospitalized with covid were admitted for some other reason and simply tested positive for the coof because it's a SOP now to test everybody.

From CDC as of mid August for that chart. The numbers are changing slightly since then but still a vast majority of Covid deaths are from old people.

Really there isn't much else to this. Adults will and should be allowed to make adult decisions. If the vaccines work, you're free to take it. No one is stopping you. NEW YORK (AP) — Hospitals and nursing homes in New York are bracing for the possibility that a statewide COVID-19 vaccine mandate for health care workers could lead to staff shortages when it takes effect Monday.

Doctors and nurses — and also support staff, like food service workers and cleaners — have been given until Sept. 27 to get at least their first vaccine shot in one of the nation's most aggressive plans to protect patients.

Hochul, a Democrat, held firm on the deadline Thursday, telling reporters at a news conference that there were "no excuses" for those refusing to abide by the mandate, announced this summer.
