Thank you @richwicks

How do you know? Do you just recognize him?

He's not a NY Times editor then, right?

@Patrick

I saw the video previously before Carlos Tejada had his heart attack on air, so I knew it couldn't be him. In some post (somewhere) a person mentioned in the comments that it was some "nobody Canadian comedian". From that, I had enough info to find out who he was:

https://search.brave.com/videos?q=canadian+comedian+psa+covid+vaccination&source=patrick.net

He's in the 2nd result, but if you get different results:

https://www.cbc.ca/radio/day6/mobile-vaccine-clinics-covid-19-in-brazil-queen-s-consorts-hemingway-s-letters-and-more-1.5980240/canadian-youtube-comedian-brittlestar-shifts-his-approach-as-the-pandemic-drags-on-1.5980255?source=patrick.net

And THAT'S how I identified him.

This shit is spreading like fire. Freinds coast to coast are all getting it this week.
3028   Patrick   2022 Jan 7, 1:25am

That's good news, imho.

A. It proves the vaxx does nothing to stop the spread. Indeed, it's disproportionatey the vaxxed who are getting sick now.
B. Omicron is harmless.
C. Omicron should give people pretty good immunity.

Yup. Hopefully it will flair out after this variant wave and just be considered a cold or mild flu. Everyone I know that has had it has been fine and it's a lot of people. Mild cold like symptoms. If it wasn't for a test, they'd go to work. So that minor of symptoms.

I'd estimate 50% or so vaccinated based on THEM bringing up their vax status. None of my business to ask, plus the vaccine is useless right now against the virus so what difference does is make. Maybe reduction of symptom time?

I can search, but has anyone done an at home antibody test or have a recommendation? I want to see if I've had it. Traveling and looking to have a mountain of evidence so I can say fuck you to any hassle I get. Legit bringing a binder to Jamaica if I test negative next week. First international travel for the family and of course it comes during a massive spike in cases. Mexico was a breeze last year for the wife and I. 3 kids in tote this time, 1 not being ours, baby daddy in prison, and I'm questioning if the effort will be worth it.

And no negatives about Jamaica. Every person I talk to about Mexico says it's horrible. I love it when I've been. I've stopped listening to others even though I've asked here. It's a 2nd and 3rd world country in parts that gets hit by hurricanes, so it always will look rough. I'm not going to the shit hole parts. Also Jamaica's crime rate is better than Chicago where I worked in some of the war zones for over a decade. 2-10X's plus as many people died in Chicago from homicide than died in any year of the Afghanistan war.

So back to Covid. Homicide will kill more people in Chicago over my lifetime, by a long shot, then covid will. It's clear the powers that be give zero shits.
3030   Patrick   2022 Jan 7, 1:41am

And drug OD's will kill far more than crime will.

But the PTB don't care about those either.

They care. Just depends. Send in the National Guard to the South and West side of Chicago and shooting and deaths would plummet 90%. Problem is they're people of color and that's racist to stop themselves from urban genocide. Which is what it is.

Then factor in that most white people run and get their heroin and other drugs from the West side. Boom. A 2-fer. Get opioids out of the hands of the suburban whites. Could literally lock down a few areas and eliminate a lot of death, more so than covid. And not lock down in camps or houses even. Just bring in a massive police presence.

WTF is National Guard doing half the time anyway? Put 'em to use. We're paying for it. There's an actual war zone 60 miles from me as we speak. 9 dead already this year and it's been freezing.

Seems pretty obvious to me the vaxx is causing the spread.
Those who are vaxxed also have higher viral loads so easily pass it onto the unvaxxed who have average immune systems. I can't believe the supermarket shelves aren't stripped bare of Vitamin D, C and zinc.
And of course it's the flu and cold season so many will misdiagnose for that.
Yet people still believe in the narrative!
How much worse would we be without the vaxx! Without wearing face masks for 2 years!
Thank Science there is a test to tell me whether or not I'm sick and on my death bed!
It's all the unvaxxed's fault!
They all nod along in agreement like the wise sage's on The View! - a future textbook case for 'Mass formation Psychosis!'

Victorians are being urged not to buy more meat and vegetables than they need, as the rise of COVID-19 cases across the state forces food processors to reduce staff numbers.

There are warnings some food supply will be impacted in the coming weeks, as industries adapt to tough new restrictions to curb the spread of coronavirus, but experts say the pain will be short-lived.

The Australian Meat Industry Council warns reduced staff at abattoirs will lead to less meat being available for customers
The Victorian Premier says there may be gaps on shelves but there is no need to stock up on supplies

...

A small supermarket in regional Victoria has hired security guards to check identification at the door to prevent shoppers from Melbourne from clearing out the shelves.

For some reason, the only symptom I have is, for some strange reason savory food items smell like a chemical synthesized cumin smell in the way way back of my sinuses. It's almost like my sinuses got chemical burned. I can't smell subtle hints of flavorings in the food. But I can smell burnt, burning, or toasted things just fine. I can taste OK, though not as well as before.
I thought when you lost your sense of smell stuff smelled like nothing. I made some tuna salad last night, and I smelled a jar of pickle relish that was way back in the fridge, I wanted to make sure was still good. That was the first time I noticed it, I thought it was way off, so I pitched it. But now I'm noticing other food stuffs have that same weird smell.

Fuck me running. Neighbor tested positive today. We shared a hitter Saturday night and we all hung out for 6 hours inside. I have no symptoms outside of not smelling mostly since Thanksgiving, so nothing recent, but have to test Wednesday. Getting ready to forge some tests potentially. I'm 95% sure I had it and still experience long covid symptoms.

I'm at the point where just throw me in jail. The restriction on my movement is already like I am in jail and I've done nothing wrong. And I'll sue the fuck out of you and win if you fuck with me. Sorry. Angry. Between covid and the fucking car issues 2022 has been shit. I'm looking on the bright side though as I know I can get the the Caribbean as Jamaica gives zero shits and only contact traces, which is done.

Genuine question given most of us are hardcore anti-Covid-vaxx...if you knew that taking the vaccine would've kept your taste and smell in tact when you got Covid, would you have gotten it?

100% no once data came out about heart issues. I have genetic BP issues. I'm young enough and healthy enough that Covid won't kill me before a car crash does. Death from Covid or from the vaccine are minuscule, but not worth it in my world.

The smell/taste is coming back. Not at 100%. The ongoing fatigue has been the biggest bitch. I have a board meeting at 7pm central I'm doing remotely. After this comment I'm likely taking a quick nap. I've already taken one today. When fully awake I feel great. Then the fatigue hits after 4-6 hours of being awake. It's not painful, but I legit have been close to falling asleep standing up.

If I was symptom free because of the vaccine, I'm still not certain I'd take it. And that's not a dig at anyone that took it. My own wife did and almost all my peers have. I have trust issues with the medical field. Especially with something rushed through so fast, even by a POTUS that I liked. I don't get good vibes.

Ripped off from Toyotanation:

My recent experience with the hospital:

My wife had to go to ER 2 weeks ago. Horrible headache, thought it might be stroke. Turned out to be a pinched nerve in the neck.

RN Are vaccinated?
Us No
RN Do you have any Covid symptoms?
Us No
RN logs wife in as a Covid positive case. No Covid tests given.

Us Why was she marked as Covid positive?
RN We enter ALL unvaxxed as Covid positive.

https://spectatorworld.com/topic/covid-conspiracy-theorist-vaccines-fertility/?source=patrick.net

It’s official — I am a Covid conspiracy theorist. Aren’t we all, at this point?

When I used to share my forbidden opinions about the virus and the vaccines, acquaintances called me crazy and friends thought I was joking. They’d cry that surely I don’t really believe that the vaccines could affect my fertility, or that government officials wouldn’t just allow us to return to normal if we all got the vaccine, or that Covid hospitalization and death numbers could be artificially inflated.

But with every new admission from the CDC, every study and piece of reportage, we “conspiracy theorists” are vindicated. And everyone who mocked our distrust of public health officials is eating crow.

I wasn’t always so obstinate about the pandemic. I naively trusted that “fifteen days to slow the spread” was a temporary measure meant to protect our families and avoid overwhelming hospitals. As soon as the government started to shift the goalposts so they could continue the lockdowns, I realized that I had allowed myself to be duped. Never again, I vowed.

As it turns out, aggressive skepticism and even outright disbelief of everything the government tells you during a pandemic is a pretty reliable policy to have.

The idea that the virus was engineered and either intentionally or unintentionally leaked from a Wuhan lab went from a conspiracy theory to regarded by scientists as the most likely scenario regarding the virus’s origins.

Hydroxychloroquine went from “fish tank cleaner” and ivermectin from “horse dewormer” to potentially effective early Covid treatments. A deep dive into the data will eventually prove that hundreds of thousands of lives could have been saved through the use of therapeutics, but that wouldn’t have made as much money for pharmaceutical companies.

Women who were worried the vaccines could affect fertility were called crazy, but now the public health regime admits there can be “mild” and “temporary” changes to women’s menstrual cycles from the mRNA vaccines. How long until we learn those changes aren’t so “mild” after all and could have long-term effects on women’s reproductive systems?

Government scientists screeched at young, healthy people not to return to normal because they would inevitably die from the virus or kill others. Now, we know that incidental asymptomatic spread is not a threat to others and that the vast majority of people who have died from the virus were elderly and/or have multiple other comorbidities.

Those who warned that the vaccines weren’t as effective as they were made out to be have been denounced as anti-vaxxers and a threat to public health. CDC director Rochelle Walensky now confirms that the vaccines don’t stop people from catching or spreading the virus, undermining the entire case for vaccine mandates. We learned pretty quickly after their emergency approval that the efficacy of the vaccines wanes over time. Pfizer’s CEO, in a video that’s oddly been removed from social media, admitted that two doses of their vaccine isn’t enough to combat the omicron variant and even three shots only offers “decent” protection against hospitalization. The European Union recently warned that constant booster shots could even weaken the immune system and advised against a fourth jab.

We weren’t allowed to question the death and hospitalization numbers. Yet that narrative started to crumble when the Cuomo administration in New York was confirmed to be fudging its data on nursing home deaths to save political face. This past weekend, the CDC director indicated that data would be forthcoming on how many Covid deaths were “from Covid” and how many were “with Covid.” This would mean that some portion of the nearly 900,000 people we were told died from Covid may have just tested positive when they were hospitalized with other issues.

How can you watch all of the “conspiracy theories” about Covid come true and not consider yourself a “conspiracy theorist”? Isn’t it rational to reflexively distrust the people who have repeatedly lied to you? Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

MSNBC:

When Daniel Storm found out he had Covid-19, he was shocked. He had been so careful, barely socializing and always wearing a mask whenever he left the house.
His PCR test results arrived by email on Jan. 8. As he stared at the word “positive,” Storm, 52, of Wilmington, North Carolina, said he felt angry and disappointed.
Then, relief washed over him.
“I feel like I’ve been kind of walking on pins and needles, like omicron is everywhere,” Storm said of the hypertransmissible Covid variant.
He had received his Covid vaccinations and booster, but he has been terrified he might unwittingly pass the virus onto someone more vulnerable. Getting the news about his case — which ended up being an asymptomatic one that he discovered by testing on a whim — enabled Storm to isolate at home and then feel more relaxed, both for himself and for those around him.
“I feel even more protected now,” he said.

Storm said of the hypertransmissible Covid variant

It is no more or no less transmissible than any other Viral variant. Why everyone is catching it is because, when people get it, they aren't even sure if they have it, or their allergies are acting up. Then once they do get tested, and know they have it. One half of the day, you seem perfectly fine, and think that it is over and has ran its course. But then later the rest of the day, you feel malaise and fatigue. But then the next day, you feel perfectly fine again. Many may have it the full course, and never even suspect that they have it.
Everyone is out and about with it, either oblivious to the fact, or don't give three shits that they have it.

The previous variants, when people had it, they were too out of sorts, to be out in public with it, everyone could spot them a mile away as being sick.
