Funny to watch people blame gays (5% of the population upper bound) for the fact that the military struggles to attract recruits even with large bonuses.
Fact is, for a young American with literally any other employment options, joining the military is a shitty value proposition for them, EVEN WITH all the perks that have been solidly in place for well over half a century. The more skilled and talented the recruit, the more likely the military is to stuff them into a position the MILITARY wants and needs of them, to the detriment of their career and possibly health. Also the well known fact that for all the lip service paid to the glory and sacrifice of serving the country, in return the country pays mostly only lip service to ACTUAL veterans. They're ordered to commit an environmental My Lai on a daily basis with hazardous dumping and burn pits that expose them and their entire unit to extremely toxic smoke and contaminate to uselessness entire water tables near milit...

I'm not blaming gays,
but the current DOJ top brass
Marines require that males do pull-ups whereas females just do a flexed-arm hang.

I did a few seasons of Tough Mudder races. The last obstacle on the course, strategically placed near the finish line and crowds, is a HIGH row of 5 gymnastics rings over a huge airbag. This is also strategically where the athletes are pretty gassed out. Thanks to my profession, I have grip strength for days, and actually showboated by doing upside-down pullups on two of the rings before continuing across. 40% of the men and 95% of the women lost grip and fell by the third ring. This was in all the races, in all the states I attended.

How is it relevant to USMC recruitment standarts? Tough Mudder is open to the general population - my 12 y.o. nephew did it, for fuck's sake.
now being proudly worn by my BIL who couldn't do one pull-up even if his life depended on it.
What the fuck are we supposed to do with it - invade China?

No, achieve EQUITY! and FAIRNESS!
What does the military REALLY offer young recruits today, that's better than the existing shitty civilian job market?
Taking away your penchant for throwing pot-shots at the gay community at every opportunity, tell us: What does the military REALLY offer young recruits today, that's better than the existing shitty civilian job market? Would you honestly recommend your own children or high school age relatives in your extended family choose the military to exercise their talents and set their life trajectory?

They do well recruiting the young and desperate.

I've been told that joining the Airforce can do a person very well in the civilian job market and even better in a non-military government position. Depending on what you've learned, of course.

new hires with USMC background would rise much faster than non-Marines.

Nepotism, where you can find it and while it lasts. THAT'S what a stint in the military will get a man, maybe!

Gosh, I wonder if being forced to accept an injection of an ineffective and dangerous experimental drug might have something to do with recent recruiting problems.
Giddyup, we'll get a toofer!
