An Applebee’s franchise executive is under fire for allegedly suggesting in a leaked email that worsening economic conditions could force desperate restaurant workers into longer shifts at lower wages. “As inflation continues to climb and gas prices continue to go up, that means more hours employees will need to work to maintain their current level of living,” reads the March 6 email that was allegedly sent by Wayne Pankratz, an executive with American Franchise Capital. The email, posted Wednesday to Reddit, received more than 5,000 comments before the thread was locked.

Where does it say that they will cut anyone's pay?

Just kidding. They will cut your hours until you quit.

At least they are allowing the scheduling so that they can work around other jobs.

Sounds like he's recommending that the company try to ensure that they don't lose employees to preferring their other job by scheduling in their favor.

Never in my life have I seen Dunkies close at 6PM on a regular day.

Two different locales I stopped for a coffee after picking up my kid and running errands, closed just after 6PM. Same Franchisee I think.

I think the cheapass franchisee doesn't want to pay the $12-15/hr for staff. They also never have any donuts or sandwiches afternoon, either.

Surprised the IP Holder is letting franchisees do this. They already keep it drive-thru only in the afternoon.

You are right but there is one more reason. Those folks from the southern border are likely to vote Democrat, for life. Having said that, is there any difference between Democrats and Republicans when it comes to their corporate investors. It is arguable that they are the same, one worse than the other in a different way.
