Those times appear to be over. Disney apparently has entire divisions of its animation studio dedicated to pushing alternative sexualities on children. Most of the progressive establishment—including the White House—has come out in favor of five-year-olds learning about transgenderism and homosexuality in the classroom.

The media, meanwhile, is growing very angry with conservative criticism of this phenomenon...

For a long time the conservative movement has had a tendency to fold relatively easily in the face of broad criticism, especially media criticism. It would be a terrible dereliction of duty to do that now. Make no mistake: We are in fact dealing with grooming here. Children are being groomed. Do not hesitate to call it for what it is.

There is no point in denying it, though some self-styled conservatives are doing just that. David French, for instance, has complained about the "groomer smear." He claims it is wrong to apply that label to, say, grown men and women in Florida who want to teach your kindergartner about "sexual orientation."

The left’s goal is to drive a wedge between children and their parents so they can be more easily indoctrinated with radical, progressive ideas. This used to start in the universities. Hard-working families would send their kids off to college only for them to return home for the holidays spouting nonsense about white privilege and systemic racism. Conservatives grew hip to this game and started exposing the fantastical concepts being taught in higher education. In order to continue their successful brainwashing, leftists needed to turn the kids when they were younger and more impressionable.

They hate the term - it hits them right in their dark heart. Groomer works. But yes, they also want to eliminate parents and the family, too. It's interrelated.

But "Destroy the family" is more abstract, more distant, than "Groom your child". Groomer works.

Lest you be deceived by the title and think that I’m the one accusing Disney of having a gay agenda, I’m not. He proudly stated on video that he was “wherever I could, just basically adding queerness. . . . Transgenderism relies on the presumption that sex distinctions don't really exist; or at least that there is no binary. There is no one who can be considered "fully male" or "fully female," but rather just gender nomads fitting somewhere on society's sliding scale of identity.

But rather than thoughtfully following that outrageous claim to its logical end, most gay activists still perceive conservatives as their biggest enemy, and remain blind to the Trojan Horse they have permitted within their movement's walls. Today, in increasing intensity, that horse is emptying its devious contents inside the gay rights crusade and collapsing it from the inside out.

The law prohibits sexual orientation and gender identity lessons in kindergarten through third grade and — this feature has been far less publicized — forbids school personnel from concealing “healthcare services” for older kids from their parents. Dubbed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill by media partisans, the law has become a parents’ rights lightning rod. ...

For those raised on a different, sunnier, apolitical Disney, and attached to its characters and magic kingdoms, these new corporate obligations feel like a betrayal or a double cross.

As it happens, the Biden White House also “condemns the proliferation of dangerous anti-transgender legislative attacks” and endorses “gender-affirming care” for children and adolescents. For progressives, “gender-affirming care,” the current term of art for altering sex with puberty blockers, hormones, and surgery, has become a hill to die on.

“The political games and harsh and cruel attempts at laws, or laws that we’re seeing in some states like Florida, that is not a reflection of the country,” wept press secretary Jen Psaki. In fact, limiting the LGBT blitzkrieg in schools has vast popular traction and resonance. ...

If anything, misguided emphasis by adults on genital sex in elementary schools is confusing and invasive to children. Especially in public places like the classroom, where kids are ever vigilant for teacher and peer approval, violations of privacy and ridicule can be scarring, humiliating, and contemptuous of home-held values. ...

So far, Disney’s unhappy position provides an object lesson in the perils of woke capitalism.

Whatever the outcome, DeSantis can rest secure that parents nationwide support his resolve, and unlike the Biden administration, see “gender-affirming care” as a crime against children and nature.
