Facing mass exodus from members, police union reverses course and files suit against L.A. County over “mandate”

That's about the long and short of it. When a crime wave stays confined to the lower classes, the rich can safely ignore it. They don't live in those areas, they have gates in front of their houses, and they have alarm systems and other layers of protection meant to keep that chaos from their doorstep.
But when all that crime starts to move up the economic ladder? That's a very bad sign; it means that the crime is getting qualitatively worse, insofar as criminals are now willing to take much bigger risks with bigger targets.
Perhaps most importantly: If they're getting that bold with rich people, how do you think they're going to treat regular people? Not good.
It wouldn't be untoward for anyone to consider packing up and bolting out of Los Angeles if possible!
immobilizing and giving them an ice pick lobotomy
The problem with non-lethal stuff is the criminal and gang buddies live to come back again later.Non lethal stuff:

• just your testimony
What's the problemCalifornia doesn't make this so easy. For example, you won't be able to get a concealed-carry license, which would alleviate a bunch of annoying restrictions. Remember to stay clear of the "school zones" when open carrying in a locked box with the ammunition carried separately! You can't mail-order ammunition in Sunnyvale (maybe all of CA?) because of laws requiring tracking purchases.
with keeping a small piece (LCP, Seecamp, Rohrbaugh, etc.) in your pocket at home? I always have one when I'm camping (your campsite is legally your residence so you can carry there) - I hardly notice it in my pocket.

With respect to your campsite... what do you do when you go day-hiking from your campsite? Do you bring a government-accpetable safe to your "home" and lock your gun when you head off for the trail? How do you bring the piece in the 50 foot walk from the access road to your campsite?
1. Don't need no stinking permit in CA to carry at home or any other temporary residence, including campsites.I mentioned how you propose to get from your car to the campsite if you can't directly drive into your site.
2. Don't need no stinking "approved safe" in CA to transport a handgun in a vehicle or on foot: all you need is a locked container, which includes a pistol rug or any soft bag with a small padlock securing a zipper fastener. Loaded magazines can be transported inside that same container, just not insereted in the gun.Ok, I went a bit overboard on that one. However, if you're transporting in your car you need the firearm and ammunition in separate compartments with the firearm not accessible by occupants inside the car. Plus, without your car, you can't simply walk through the school zone without the requirements you mention. Many of the requirements are at least partially eased with a concealed-carry permit, which is (as I mentioned) very difficult to get in California.
3. It's legal to carry a concealed loaded handgun in CA while engaged in hunting or fishing. That's good to know! Thanks. I was mostly thinking of Yosemite (a national park); hadn't thought about state and county parks.

I carry a Glock 19 with one in the chamber pretty much 24/7 except when I am shitting, showering, or fucking. Even in bed, it's literally at arms reach ready to rock.

I wanted to carry but couldn't in LA because of bullshit laws, but where I live now I can carry anything but don't feel the need to. Left ends with criminal society, race to the bottom.

In our current society… I never understood home robbery. We have literally nothing of value in our home and we are upper middle class. We keep zero cash… only use credit and have it automatically paid each month. We have apple products that are all password protected and basically bricked and useless to any thief. Big screen TVs are worth peanuts and hard to steal. My wife wears costume jeweler. Her engagement ring is probably the only thing I’d miss if stolen. If you keep hard valuables like gold or jewelry in your house you are usually evading taxes. If you have huge amounts of cash your mattress you are probably a drug dealer.
