Twitter becomes a giant honey pot to lure freedom loving, but not too savvy individuals back to a mainstream platform where their activities are more easily tracked.
People continue thinking in pseudo-sentences and memes, furthering the retardation of America.
Real freedom loving platforms that are independent of big tech lose freedom loving, but slightly stupid users, weakening the movement towards much needed decentralization.
Now here's what I really think. They are losing, they have been for years, and are becoming increasingly desperate. In a few more years, gootube, google, facebook(already), and twatter will have gone the way of the Dodo as people are leaving in droves, opening the blinds, and remembering that real communication starts by talking to your neighbors, not swearing at a bot/shill. This is an attempt to make big tech relevant again, and elevate Musk's candidacy for anti-Christ. I'm semi-serious on that last part. If you guys did one tenth of the res...
WineHorror1 saysI don't know how "free speech" helps on Twitter if someone can dox you for what you say.
Doxing is just one concern. Speaking freely could end up costing you everything, this whole woke shit and cancel culture isn’t over just because some billionaire owns a platform.
And what if it is the Trojan horse towards implementing a platform for payment, and social credit scoring just like in China? We know Musk is into human microchip implantation, digital “currencies”, Internet service provider and now social media, what if he combines that all into a mark of the best type system that becomes “you can’t buy or sell unless you take the microchip implant? Not likely, but just asking what if here. I have no reason to trust Musk.
Mr. Trump said he will instead become active on TRUTH Social
Did anyone see the episode of Orville where they took social media to the extreme where society was run by social media status?
He seems to admit to a weed addiction.
(If you guess what movie I'm referencing, 6 pack of internet beer)
and Tuh Tuh Tuh Talcum X!!
I also like Malcolm X. Pull up by bootstraps, get wealth and power to not be a victim, positive message guy.
That's why we gotta expand off the planet. I expect the Earth to get nuttier and nuttier. Go raise the Periapsis, young man.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA—Elon Musk’s bid to purchase Twitter came up short after 138,000 board votes were found at 2 a.m., a company spokesman confirmed Tuesday. Musk had been in talks to purchase the company for $44 billion.
“We really thought Musk was going to pull this one out,” said Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal. “The yes votes had a strong lead when I went to bed last night, but that was before we counted all the mail-in votes that one of our employees found in locker 142 at the bus terminal.”
When the final votes were tallied, the takeover bid failed by a final tally of 10 votes for, 138,000 votes against. While the final result came as a shock to most observers, Agrawal said the election was fair. “Twitter takes election integrity very seriously,” he noted. “I can confidently say this was the most secure election in American history.”
A shocked Musk took to Twitter Tuesday to express his outrage. “Those ballots…that’s a whole big scam,” Musk tweeted. “The only way I could have lost is if this was rigged! I refuse to accept the results of this vote!”
Musk later tweeted that he was planning a demonstration at Twitter headquarters on May 6 to protest the results. His account was then permanently suspended by Twitter for questioning the integrity of the election.
We're 100's of years away from being able to live comfortably off Earth. Maybe 1000's. The people that move there would mutate as well, in 1/3rd gravity. They might be 9 feet tall on average who can't even enter the gravity well of Earth. This idea of living off Earth seemed great when I was a kid, but imagine the largest structure you can imagine, and spending your entire life in that - that's what it would be like. No matter how comfortable how luxurious it was, it would be a prison in time.
