Should I consider moving to Panama City beach or the panhandle in general?
It seems somewhat hurricane prone, which is why I would tend to avoid it. Also, I can probably get a job there, and a good one. I used to have a cousin there (in Florida near Mobile, AL), but took it off my list after they died.

I was in Brevard/Volusia a few days ago and it was all "RON DON 2024" stickers. After Ron Jon's of course.

I think it's a bad idea to have such stickers on your car or truck.
My reason is if you ever have to shoot a perp some shyster lawyer will try to make you the bad guy; the jury will see photos of your sticker.
My favorite sticker was a map of Florida as the grip of a handgun: "The Gunshine State".
I'm not a Florida expert, but the times I visited the Gulf side it was hot and jumping in the water at the beach was really no relief.
I prefer the Gulf Stream on the Atlantic side.

Won't be a problem in my county. +20 Republican.

a.) if you ever have to use a gun on someone, that sticker may be used against you in a court of law

b.) if you get pulled over, police may be more on edge than they would be otherwise

c.) arguable that it will attract trouble more than it will deter thieves or robbers

Thankfully Ron doesn't allow Persecutions, in lieu of prosecution. And he wont prosecute those protecting themselves, family or property.

Now if you want to get into a shooting match over the roadway etiquettes, then all bets are off. You should be sent away for the safety of the general public.

I would. Live inland 10 miles. Make sure the house is solid for hurricane winds. You'd be fine. My folks had 3 houses north of the Garcon Point bridge East of Pensacola, Milton specifically. They were on swampy type brackish water leading to Escambia Bay, then to Pensacola Bay then the Gulf. Weathered a few hurricanes but the Bay never pushed up high enough. They were just south of I-10.

20-25 minutes drive or so to Pensacola Beach or Navarre Beach (with toll). Cool part is if you're into boating you could easily draft 3-4' and would be pretty protected back in the channel. You could literally get to the Gulf boating from your back yard. I think my mom sold 2 of them for $250k each just last year. 3/2 ranch layout on water.

Only issue is inland you do get some element if you're not on a golf course community. Meth heads and the like. It's safe, just expect to see some strange shit occasionally.

Other thing is bridges if you have to work or travel. I think most in that region have been rebuilt since hurricane Opal? I believe. That one I think knocked out of bunch of I-10 over Escambia Bay. I know Navarre Beach bridge was redone. So most are much more hurricane proof as much as you can make them.

I know Pensacola to Destin well. Mainly Navarre. It's not all sunshine and rainbows though. Winter down there is interesting. Not as warm as you'd think. Definitely not getting in the gulf in Dec-Feb unless you're used to cold water. But you still could with a wetsuit. And the biggie, tourist. That's the economy for the most part. You get a lot of dip shits that come down from GA, AL, TN and hell even IL like me ;) But if you're far enough inland you shouldn't have to deal with that too much.

Ad probably has better perspective living in the region. My experience is based off 1-3 week trips down there almost every year since I was 4. It's going to be cheaper than West gulf areas or Atlantic areas. I wouldn't want to live in the middle of the Pennisula . Though haven't experience it much and Gulf side is trashed right now.

Every other pickup has a #2A bumper sticker in Florida.

Florida has a "Stand Your Ground" law that applies in and immediately around your vehicle, and in many other circumstances.

Not in this state I don't.

I'm not a materialist, and I seriously have nothing worth stealing. The only thing I ever had that I would have seriously used lethal force to protect, were two dogs, and yeah, I would have killed you if you hurt them, even when they were 16.

All the value I have is information and knowledge and I daresay I'm in the top 1% of having that.
