There was a bit of fuming rage directed by Madoff's victims, his sons wound up dying or committing suicide, so it's hard to deflect that sort of backlash.

FTX has a benefit that Madoff did not that a bunch of complicit, bribed politicians will defend and deflect with the full propaganda force of the fake media MSM in order to protect him, and by default, themselves. I guess it depends on how powerful the fraud victims wind up being in comparison.
