First it would have to have been launched in Montana. Not a chance in hell it crossed the Pacific without being noticed.

Second is it’s a fucking balloon…. Even if it’s Chinese or even Russian operations, it’s a fucking balloon. That’s like shooting a Nerf gun at someone with an AR in battle. And as others have said don’t they have satellites?

There are nukes out here which would be the only concern. So I’m not convinced that it’s not a spy ballon. If you’re going to launch one and kill the least amount of civilians MT and ND are perfect and you could cripple our land based nukes (that we know about).

Problem with that strategy is we have a bunch of nukes out at sea and airborne in a moment. I don’t know if it’s trolling or actual spying, but using a ballon is retardation in its purest form.

I commented somewhere earlier this morning, in a Disqus article about the militaries lack of action on the Chinese Spy Balloon.
I said that I suspect that Biden will shoot it down, once it has completed it's land mission and China has gathered all of the data that it needs, I quiped they would shoot it down once it hit the Atlantic Ocean.

I can't even be facetious about this Assclown without running the risk of being correct.

But from what I've read, the Pentagon was tracking it before it reached the Aleutian islands, Alaska. They should have shot it down over western Canada.

Based on how this went, the Chicoms may generate new but slightly less similar methods (compared to this balloon).

I am not sure if the Chicoms would plan on attacking the Minuteman ICBM silo areas with hypersonic nuclear missiles, or nuclear bombs dropped from space or air balloons.

The matter as far as strategic forces is that the 400 Minuteman ICBM silos are distributed over thousands of miles.

Let alone there are at least 9 of the 14 Ohio class submarines on patrol, each with 20 ICBM's. The other 4 Ohio class submarines only deploy Tomahawk cruise missiles; each can deploy 154 cruise missiles.

In addition from what I've read, the US Navy attack submarines (total of 51 attack subs, with 20 being Virginia class) alone can deploy nuclear armed Tomahawk cruise missiles with a range of at least 1500 miles.

They could launch the Tomahawk cruise missiles off of Japan to reach critical targets in China. And they could launch them from off of Denmark or Poland to reach critical targets in Russia.
