This was a super cool place back in the 1990s and early 2000's. Everything we built though is being turned against the ENTIRE population, including us. The good news is, now that we built it once, it's a LOT easier to rebuild it.

I'm seeing alternatives to sites that are growing massively because they don't engage in censorship, open communication is allowed, and there's been a LOT of people removed for political statements who won't shut up, ever. When there's a game on a level playing field, the best team wins, and that's not here anymore. It ONCE WAS, 20 years ago, but not today. Either my colleagues have fucking sold out, or they've become stupid - but they sure as hell don't have the principles they once did. I'm unchanged.

When companies pulled censorship or tilted the field in some way, we abandoned those companies, we quit. Now you have these legacy companies run by immoral people, who have no principles, and that's often the bottom of the barrel for an engineer or somebody that's just desperate. Google is shitfest now, so is Twitter and Facebook. I think Musk is making a huge financial error in purchasing Twitter. They've always been a propaganda vector, they are a platform for politicians and celebrities to say what they want without pushback. Youtube is the same now and so is Google (which owns Youtube).

During covid, right as covidian tyranny and jab mandates started, a manager where I work ditched his sillycon valley tech manager job to take his large family to Arkansas. He was seemingly very motivated at work up to this point, and so I assume really liked his job. His boss forbade him moving because being remote wasn't a good fit for his position, but he just left, and then went and found another job soon after.

I really respected him for doing that - he didn't let anyone mess with whats best for his family.

Here is a great example of fact check bias. It is commonly reported that Monkeypox is being spread by gay men. No one has said that only gay men can get it, just that it is being spread primarily by gay men and then by those with close contact to them.

It seems to be more correlated to economic status. Immigrants who have higher economic status - such as Indians, Japanese, etc. - seem to have fewer kids, compared to the ones that are at the lower end. Might be some kind of r-selection vs. K-selection dynamic

OK, I'm going to be blatantly honest here.

I went through a time period of being a hedonist. Stuffing anything up my asshole isn't enjoyable to me at all. There MUST be a genetic component to it - a structural component to it which I do not have because of my genetic coding.

There are people that can be "turned" to homosexuality, absolutely not with me. You could consider me "blind" in this ability.

I do absolutely object to children "experimenting" with adults, pedophilia can NEVER be allowed. HOWEVER with regard to homosexuality, societies that allow homosexuality see a decrease in it. Instead of homosexual men getting married and having kids, they just don't have kids.
