OK. I admit. I do try and price compare amazon on items as sometimes I have found large variances, especially in specialty items (like recirc pumps , etc).
And if the price is about the same I have no problem ordering directly from the vendor.

But, I am just about to give up on wasting my time. The last few orders I placed with other vendors simply didn't get fulfilled correctly.
I ordered three nebo flashlights - not cheap, but mid-price - and a few days later I get the order slip showing all 3 but only 2 in the actual box.
And they are not the only vendor with an order picking problem I do call up, give them the order#, and they apologize and say they will ship
me the missing product. But still, I don't like it. They need to get these orders 100% correct when you are relying on remote delivery. I am not sure
why they trusted me to say that I only got two and was missing one. I feel like it puts the onus on me to correct their problems and I keep waiting for them to say "you are lying!" - which would really piss me off.

And, also recently, bought an expensive automatic watch but was delivered an empty box. It was several emails and pics back and forth before they admitted they likely had a problem with their fulfillment center. But again - how do you prove a "box was empty when I opened it up". What if they got stubborn and said that I simply wanted a "second" one?

So while not an Amazon fan and hate their dominance, I never have problems with them. Returns are super easy (though I hardly ever return).
Ordering is easy. These 3rd parties need to do better. If there is a problem with Amazon it is not in the order picking but a misrepresentation of what was bought. And then you just return.

Maybe I just have bad luck...
Venting.

Amazon vendors are not treated well the percent charged is criminal. Some vendors stock nothing but buy ship 3rd party same thing happening on ebay. Some ebayers use Amazon shipping on ebay I see it happening all the time. 3rd parties should wise up and quit because there making little money and can't QC there products. Buyers should really ask sellers a few questions before purchase to see how bright these people are. I don't buy based on easy returns that means the item is crap.

I HATE Amazon. They're the best in the shipping game though hands down, at least where they deliver themselves or ship through USPS. Everything is accurate as fuck. It's rather amazing logistically. UPS and FedEx are not on the same level.

Now is it fair that they ride on the backs of USPS to deliver a lot of rural stuff, probably not and probably at a loss for USPS. But the system is pretty fucking seamless. And yes vendors and sellers are getting screwed over by Amazon. Especially the copy cat Chinese bull shit that uses the name brand names yet isn't the brand name product. That's where they absolutely suck.

Amazon is funded directly by the government. All the intelligence agencies store all their information at AWS. This is a government power grab to destroy competition, once it's gone Amazon will go to crap.

Why would you. You only have to give them your personal identity and home address, then allow them to track your purchasing history. But maybe you think you can shop from Amazon without revealing who you are or where you live? No fucking way. They called my bank and attempted to get records without my consent. I was at a credit union, and bank said fuck no. Cancelled service after that. I did try to order items once or twice, but the account gets locked immediately, and wouldn't get unlocked without some very personal documents being submitted to prove my identity.

Amazon is a natural extension of the CBDC system. It's already setup that way. They absolutely will not do business without your identity. But the convenience..!

I still order lots of stuff online, never have to overpay. The only issues I have are USPS shipping fuck ups.

I try to avoid Amazon. Still when I buy stuff apparently with no relation it shows up in an Amazon box.
