160 years ago black men were considered too stupid and dangerous to vote (ditto for the Irish way back when). Up until a little over a hundred years ago, women were considered to be too emotional/reckless as well as possibly stupid to be allowed to vote.

What, if anything, have we learned in the past 160 years?

Getting beaten over the head over my vote by my wife has been a true bonding experience over the years.

I'm half Irish, so that means my household only gets half a vote in the Old World.
