C'mon everybody saw this a comin'. Democrats are gonna increase government oversight (rent control) brought about by a problem government created (not enough housing being built). First they make it tough to kick out tenants, then they set minimal rent increases, but this time they are even going so far as to bring up the possibility of putting in mandatory rent decreases.

What's not to like???

These proposals will just put an end to construction of apartment complexes by private enterprise. Thereby, only government will be in a position to add supply. They will then be able to dictate who lives where and for how much.

Newburg has less than 30,000 people and that number is declining. With laws like that, even more people will leave.

No one should be surprised as government gets more involved with everything related to the needs everyone has. As the gap between those that have and those that don't increases, it is inevitable. Reports already show that the bulk or wealth increases go to the top, what, 5%? Wasn't there a report a few years ago saying that the bottom % of the country isn't even being represented?

Dems and the potatus want a Federal rent control law. Fuck that. My rentals are in the county to avoid the blue city nearby. If they get annexed I sell and buy further out.

SCOTUS already sold out property owners by upholding New Yorks rent controls earlier this year.

It also means those scrofular immigrant hoards of military age with their Globalist credit cards can be garrisoned all over the country. The immigrants are payrolled. It gets around the quartering provision of the Constitution. They have to have a way of housing their unprivileged combatants. Paid by SERCO, that is the company that is payrolling the immigrant hordes.
