Giuliani's cleanup lasted a good time. Of course it declined fast with the leftoid takeover and covid may have put a final nail in the coffin, but I enjoyed visiting it each time. Too much history, Wall Street etc. Brooklyn Bridge is fun to bike or jog over and it has some good bars

Look, go upstate to any fucking random town. Don't bring your city bullshit with you, be polite and see the sites. Everything is 1/2 price, beer is better, but you'll have limited selection. Go to hole in the wall places (which is just about everywhere), hang out in nature for a bit.

Go to Covewood, or any of the many places in the Adirondacks. Again, don't be a big shitty shithead. The people you will meet do actual real work that is necessary for our survival. Downplay your education, don't look down upon them - they REJECTED your life.

I'm in SillyCon Valley, a SHITBOX ...

Of course but that's true for most cities. New York didn't get it's flair for being family friendly, cheap or socially just or whatever shit they're pretending to be today. It was known for its history, parties, bars, music, culture, art, bars & restaurants, wall street etc. I prefer small towns these days as well but would no want to have missed living in and visiting metroploes during the work hard play hard years of youth. This is not a black and white issue. I'm somewhat irked at the direction SF and SV have taken but I spent some of my and its.best years there. No need to indiscriminately bash cities cause they have taken a turn for the worse under leftoid marxist retards

NYC doesn't have any of that.

Ever had Ethiopian food before? If you can find it in NYC, it will be crap. I've had it, I had it with an Ethiopian.

The reputation of NYC is VASTLY over-stated. Yes, they have variety of everything, the lowest quality of all of it.

If you're in Silicon Valley, go check out Zenni's at 1320 Saratoga Ave, San Jose. Do a little work on youtube on learning how to eat Ethiopian food - there are no utensils. It's similar to Northern Indian, it's all curries, but you pick it up with bread.

NYC has always been bad. I'm 51 now.

In the 1990's, a company called Omni tried to make a dump in my town, a dump from NYC, because we had an old unused rail road. I got to work, to see what Omni had done to other towns that took the deal. Their scam was to make a "sanitary landfill" near an area that had running water, this allowed them time enough so that the statute of limitations would expire before it was discovered their landfill was leaking, because the water leached it away. I was behind the scenes, but I made certain to sink that "deal".

NYC poisons the rest of the state, intentionally. Everywhere Omni went, was a destroyed small town.

Fuck NYC, they are parasites. They are the epitome of assholes of hypocrites. I'm really serious, if the entire fucking shithole dropped into the sea, I would fly back to NY with $9,999 dollars and start buying rounds in Watertown NY. NYC is the worst shithole in this nation. Just infested with parasites. SECOND is Washington DC.

It's a financial hub. It's sales. I've only been twice and wanted to leave immediately.

My wife hasn't done the East Coast so much, well Northeast. So it's on the list. I can't stand the entire region. Frankly it makes me angry when I've been there. I don't like the people more than anything. Entitled shits that act like they work 22 hours a day, when in reality they're ass holes and bums.

It's the only region of the country I have no interest in ever visiting again. I'd maybe do Acadia NP, but no interest in ever going to NYC again in my lifetime. CA has its flaws, but most people are chill. The NE is full of ass holes. Bad people.

Washington DC is far worse. NYC had a lot of culture come out of it. New York hardcore alone is worth a lot. Prong and biohazard, two of the greatest hardcore band from the 80s. You're off here, need to distinguish between politics and inhabitants making a city great. Also NYC has or at least had great food and bars, the star chefs go where the money is. I'd move to NYC in a heartbeat over DC. Question is will it survive the leftoids and covidiots

You need to take a time machine and visit cbgb for a good NY hardcore concert. You guys are talking out of your ass, most metropoles are full of rude assholes, comes with the fast pace. Politics and leftoid retards destroying big cities aside, to say NYC has no culture or nothing to offer is bullshit.

It has nothing UNIQUE to offer or worthwhile.

The food is substandard, the odor of the sewer is literally everywhere, it's dirty, bars and shops are dilapidated, it's highly segregated, and it's highly polluted. Really, the rest of NY would be ecstatic if it became part of New Jersey. It's a city of literally useless eaters. They are always forcing the rest of the state to pay for the shithole, it's a money sink, the rest of NY hates it.

People who sing the virtues of NYC, I think they've literally been nowhere else on earth.

Most people moved from somewhere else into NYC, so that doesn't hold true. The NY hardcore music scene of the 80s and 90s was one of the best (influencing LA and other scenes). Pro-Pain, Prong, Beastie Boys, Misfits, biohazard, nuff said.

I couldn't imagine moving to a place for "the music scene".

Maybe not in your 40s, but teens and 20s, sure! It's all about timing, I would not want to live in the burbs or country all my life, growing up as a kid and then again later when you have your own family the slower-paced and generally more beautiful rural areas or burbs make much sense. For the wild years not so much imo, you need one of the metropoles of the world, esp. if you're into music (or art).

“I gave up four years, $100-something million deciding to be unvaccinated, and that was the decision,” Irving said. “(Get this) contract, get vaccinated — or be unvaccinated, and there’s a level of uncertainty of your future, whether you’re going to be in this league, whether you’re going to be on this team. So I had to deal with that real-life circumstance of losing my job for this decision.”
NBA players are not required to get vaccinated by the league, but they had to undergo stricter COVID protocols last season as part of the league’s pandemic safety measures. But in New York City where the Nets play, however, there was a vaccine mandate for businesses last season that kept Irving from playing in home games. So he missed dozens of games as a result, participating in just 29 of the 82 games for the Nets last season.

Thanks, richwicks! It's always nice to hear that I'm a worthless parasite despite protesting against the psychopaths on the streets where they're based and holding the ground as one of the million (last I checked) unvaccinated New Yorkers preventing them from going full medical police state.

Would I love to leave NYC? Better believe it. Do I want to hide where I'm from because of judgemental people that think every person from NYC is a brainwashed leftist extremist? No, I won't do that either.

Look, you have no idea how NYC treats the rest of the state. They shit all over it.

NYC is a fucking drain on the rest of the state. There's a natural gas pipeline going through my father's land using eminent domain. This is how it worked, either my father would give up rights of ANY development on the land, OR he could sell it for nothing, but then he couldn't cross it to reach the rest of his land. He can't develop on it, or use it in any way, but if he didn't do this, no way to reach the rest of his property, but he could have gotten a few pennies on the dollar..

What does NYC produce? Financial fraud? What do they make? The rest of NY would be ECSTATIC if it became part of New Jersey. It's a drain, it's an albatross on the rest of the state's neck. It's a shitty filled with arrogant fucking assholes which are the TRULY useless eaters.

Do you think you have better food, a better culture? Absolutely not but since most people in NYC never have left the shitty, they have no clue. 90% of people in NYC have never been outside, and they are INTOLERABLE when they do. They think "upstate" means anything outside of their shithole. No matter where you go, you can smell the sewer. The entire city is a sewer. It's nothing but crime, they produce nothing, they are a burden on the state, they have an undue influence on elections, they promote welfare and poverty, they elect madmen.

I'm in a similar situation in Silly Con Valley, we're hated too by the rest of the state (along with LA, SF, and San Jose), and I know precisely why. Why would you lose if a nuclear bomb were dropped on us? You wouldn't get the newest, stupid toy? You wouldn't get a new vapid stupid woke film from Pedowood? If it happened in NYC, it would drastically free up resources and drastically limit financial fraud. What does NYC produce? I don't know if Silly Con Valley at this particular point is nothing but a drain, but NYC has been since 1970 at least. It produces NOTHING for society. Nothing at all.

Here's what it produces - Kathy Hochul, Andrew Cuomo, David Paterson, Elliot Spitzer, Mario Cuomo. NYC dominates the elections. I'm just pointing out that the rest of NY wants to be free of NYC and in the ACTUAL upstate, they just ignored the stupid mandates. NYC keeps electing authoritarians, nobody else wants that in the rest of the state. NYC is a drain on the rest of the state, and I can absolutely tell you, only idiots like the craphole, and they are superficial, dumbass democrats. There's absolutely nothing to be proud of in that shitty. You still have racial segregation for fucks sake.
