They got them now! The windshield wiper! Almost as bad as a small piece of plastic that needed to be reglued to the accelerator that drove all the anti-Elon FUD a few months ago.

Honestly, I am surprised that there hasn't been 100X more complaints about the Cybertruck over fit and finish because the car is so unique and different in terms of manufacturing processes. There is so much that is new and novel with the Cybertruck including 48 Volt architecture.

All the serious people who analyze cars and trucks have been very impressed with the Cybertruck's build quality and performance.

Ok, I guess this didn’t deserve its own post. I can’t get over how bad it looks. I remember some of my first drawings in elementary school. The cyber truck reminds me of those photos. Maybe I was a boy genius?

article points out that he overestimates number if sales by a huge amount. they aren’t selling much, at least in US.

You do realize that 48 volt has been around for decades? I drove carts at the club that were 48v. They're just being built on bigger frames and more battery capacity. and with sexy infotainment which is basically a dumbed down iPad. This has been around since the 80's-90's.

It wasn't practical until the government stepped in with subsidies and someone found a way to make it sexy/marketable. The tech is old as can be.

Edit: This thing is a POS

Yet not a single auto manufacturer in the world has (or been able) to implement 48V architecture in their vehicles.

Tesla just does it and is now saving miles of cable and loads of money building cars. The Cybertruck is also first mass produced car to has steer by wire.

Ford announced a new recall today for over half a million F150's built 10 years ago!

Can't have your car slipping into first gear on the freeway.

I'm amazed that anyone would buy such a ridiculous vehicle, and pay a lot for it.

Cart owners have been doing it for decades. That was my point. Musk, as much as I like him came up with nothing new. He got government subsidies and still built a more expensive car. Ugly in my opinion as well. Especially CT.

I can pull my engine and drop 4-6 48v batteries in my Nissan Versa and a motor for $10k. Get as good performance and at least 1/3rd the cost. I don't think people realize how easy it is to do a EV. There's nothing earth shattering about EV's. Been around forever.

Planes have been doing it for a while. I know you said cars, but this isn't ground breaking tech.

10 years ago, ya say? The cyber truck can’t even make it to the dealership without a recall.

Not a good look for telsa. So much for less moving parts and all that crap.

This seems wrong to me. Lexus has 135 problems per 100 vehicles? That would mean every single one of their cars has a problem. That seems completely wrong. Lexus is consistently a great car. Every mechanic I’ve ever spoken to says get a Lexus and you’ll never be disappointed.
15   GNL   2024 Jun 29, 11:26am

Toyota also.

@socal2 will now start talking about how many toilets in Russia failed during the Ukraine War or something.

Toyota and Lexus are very dependable.
I have driven Toyota trucks for decades
My Volvo is a tank, but too complex probably.
It's got too many bells and whistles, and those can fuck up.
I expect no major problems however, it's solid.

The guys on caredge.com showed a variant of that bar graph that included the other EV vehicles and they were worse that tesla.

Real shitbuggies like the Fisker Ocean must drag down the 'other EV vehicles' numbers.

I’ll be sticking with Lexus and Toyota from now on. Cars are too expensive to end up with one that has no chance of lasting until 300k.
