Starmer's government is now going balls to the walls in Watermelon idiocy that makes the Germans look like slowpokes.

They just banned the issuance of all oil drilling permits in the North Sea. Including those in process. And British oil production is already at an all time low:

And they are going to put millions of solar panels on rooftops as well as construct three massive solar farms.

Problem is, this is even stupider than using solar in Germany.

That is just available solar output they can possibly collect. Part of that problem is intermittency that effects their overall capacity.

And then wind. They are going to allow super large windmills on land. 830' tall ones. Same kind they have offshore. But the wind blows in the north of England, while British industry is in the south. So what are they going to do?

Charge way more for electricity in the south in order to force relocation of industry to the north. But if a steel mill has to relocate, they will look at all options worldwide. Opps!

Last, and the best, the Watermelons are going make climate denialism a hate speech crime and prosecute the shit out of everyone who commits it as possible. Including bitching about this. Nice eh?

most of Europe except for Spain is bad for solar energy

USA in general is okay with the southwest of USA being the Saudi Arabia for solar (9 out of 10) and Florida is pretty good (7 out of 10)

England should use biodigesters (farm animal waste/manure conversion) to create natural gas to power electric generators ; Minnesota had a power plant that used turkey manure for fuel

Florida panhandle shoreline (within 2 miles of beach) is about a 6 out of 10 for wind power.

Amarillo, TX is a 9 out of 10.

The lowest is 8 out of 10 for any part of England, and most of Germany is at least 7 out of 10.

Great Britain will have a first! All green measures are designed to fail, to impose the maximum suffering on the populace and make them dependent on crumbs and totally impoverished, and GB will be the first to fail and start starving its people! Congratulations, England!

I will give credit that they could generate a lot of electricity using wind turbines in all of England and most of Germany based on what I've researched.

I like smaller scale wind generators , especially if they use new technology like less-friction bearings, etc.

I am hearing here in the Florida panhandle as far as it being a 7 out of 10 for solar and 6 out of 10 for wind , that they are looking at small scale solutions for neighborhoods and homes that use both solar and wind.

China is strange, with a sunnier area in the north and less sun in the south. Is that correct?

Yunan is heavily foggy and muggy. Also Monsoon impact. Haven't been to Coastal CHYna

They haven't closed down all the UK nuke plants yet like Germany has. Also, I think the UK imports much of its food anyway.

Problem is they're hideous in suburban type areas. I'm weird, but solar panels on a home make my skin crawl. I know they've got the shingle style solar, but traditional solar is flat out ugly. It's useless in most areas without a Tesla strapped to the side of your house since it won't work at night.

I simply don't want that on my roof either for leaks. If I have a true rural property like 5-10 acres I'd be fine with panels on the ground off in the corner of the property. Maybe some wind power. Even then we have a hail storm or heavy snow 100% of the year at some point. Panels will be covered or broken. I just laugh when I see it here in IL. After a hail storm you will get solicited by 3-4 roofers for sure.
