Gold Apollo has put up a public service note on its home page, in large font, saying please don’t murder them, they only licensed the brand name; the pagers were actually made by a subcontractor called BAC Consulting Kft, registered in Budapest, Hungary in 2022.
The Journal checked and reported nobody is answering the phone over at BAC, for some reason. But the paper quoted Hungarian officials who deny the pagers were ever in Hungary. Then it got even murkier. The Journal next reported that Gold Apollo’s records show it has exported around 260,000 pagers since 2022, but none of those were shipped to anyone in Lebanon.
In other words, if Hezbollah —a designated terror organization— did buy the pagers, it was through a disguised middleman somewhere outside Lebanon. Hezbollah doesn’t just phone up suppliers and say, “Hi, this is Hezbollah calling! Can we get some electronics, please?”
Gold Apollo Co., Ltd. has established a long-term
partnership with BAC CONSULTING KFT. (SZONYI
UT 33/A., 1142 BUDAPEST, HU, hereinafter referred to
as "BAC"). According to the cooperation agreement, we
authorize BAC to use our brand trademark for product
sales in designated regions, but the design and
manufacturing of the products are solely the
responsibility of BAC.
Regarding the AR-924 pager model mentioned in the
recent media reports, we clarify that this model is
produced and sold by BAC. Our company only provides
the brand trademark authorization and is not involved in
the design or manufacturing of this product. Gold Apollo
Co., Ltd. always complies with relevant regulations and
maintains transparent and compliant partnerships with
our collaborators.
Well, I guess an empowering human sacrifice is an empowering human sacrifice, however you can make it happen.
So much for the 'gradual flaming' theory.
Lithium, if these pagers even had that are a hot slow burn.

Paging System Go Live
Dear AUBMC Community,
As we upgrade our paging system to a new updated version with better
coverage, we are officially decommissioning the old paging system. The
go live date is August 29 at 8:30 AM.
The new paging system will be restricted to emergency code teams,
ensuring improved reliability and focused communication during critical
situations. Please note that the code activation process will remain
centralized in the Call Center.
As communicated previously, Webex will replace old personal pagers as the
messaging tool for regular communication. For users who are currently on a
code team, please keep your personal pagers with you. We will switch
these with new pagers on the go-live date. For users not on the code team,
please return your personal pagers to the IT service desk located on the
2nd floor of the MAB building. This will help us ensure a smooth transition.
Attached is a detailed guide on how to install and configure Webex on your
computers or mobile devices for messaging only.
Should you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate
to contact
Mr. Ahmad El Kaaki at 7794 or
Wafaa Abi Orm at 5011.
Thank you for your cooperation as we transition to a more efficient and
modern communication system.
Thank you.
Ahmad Kaaki
Senior HIS Applications Manager

OK, seems like Israel did this, but how?
I remember several cases where Israelis inserted explosives into cellphones and even payphones so they could be blown up on demand remotely, and killed Palestinian terrorists that way.
