There is an interesting claim that the port strike is a 'white hat' move. The war of 1812 was 'lost' and Britain forced the Republic to make all ports 'US ports' (misnomer) instead of American ports. US ports meant under the jurisdiction of British Maritime Law i.e. the ports went from belonging to the Republic to British administration. The strike and military presence are somehow aimed at returning our ports as American ports and NOT US ports which are actually Admiralty ports. It is a strange claim, but it seems that it may be multi tasking to take back the sovereignty of our ports to ownership and administration of a reconstituted Republic.
