I cant count how many times the post office has screwed up and the tracking is never right.

According to email USPS has sent my delivery back in time.

The USPS does suck, but not because it's a government entity. If that were the case, all government entities would have to suck including the army and marines.

The USPS sucks because the people in the USPS suck. Change the people and it will stop sucking. All things come down to people.

I'm glad we still have the USPS though. FedEx and UPS were lobbying to have it abolished a while back so that we'd all have to pay $10 to send a letter.

USPS is still a solid cheap service, even with its typical government flaws.

USPS tracking was just someone in the Postal Service trying to be cool. It is worthless.
The problem is their tracking system gives people the illusion that your package will be there overnight even though you know it takes 3 to 5 days.
So for 2 to 4 days, people sweat that their package is days late.

Fed ex and ups are way worse.

I had a fed ex package coming. I live in a gated complex. My wife had just gotten home and saw the fed ex guy writing out a ticket saying he tried to deliver. Wife asked if she could accept delivery to make sure it got to the right unit. Fed ex guy says "nah, I already wrote the slip, they can pick it up at our facility". My wife was insistent. The package was for me :/

The other thing the fed ex guys like to do is knock, and leave that second. One time I was waiting for a package and purposely working in the hallway by the front door so I'd be there when it arrived. Guy knocks. I literally open the door three second later, he's gone, and there's a missed delivery tag on the door :/

Final one. This one fed ex also. I used to collect Mcfarlane sportspick figures. There a football exclusive I want because it will instantly be worth like $120(cost plus shipping is $25) and I can use it to trade for stuff I really want. I'm excited at work becuase I get an alert that it arrived. At the time I was living in a house with a large dog. So I get home. The fed ex guy tossed it over the backyard fence and of course the dog tore it to shreds. Bite marks all over the figure packaging.

I've ordered thousands of items off eBay, mostly usps delivery. I've had usps lose exactly one item that was their fault. They have a good track record with me and I really like our regular mailman.

Maybe if you are a business fed ex and ups work. But for home delivery they suck.

What is a letter? You mean a character? You can send them for free on Twitter.

So true, but can you blame them. The last thing they want to do is deal with the typical American resident. This is their way of avoiding people and still being able to tell their boss, they attempted to hand the package over in person.

I think the difference between USPS tracking and some of the other delivery company tracking is that the USPS version was never originally intended to be viewed by the consumer. They just took what the had for internal use and made it available to the public. So of course it sucks. Otherwise I agree with Patrick on this subject.

I have only had positive experiences with the USPS. One winter, UPS stopped running their trucks, but the USPS came through, as did FedEx.

Global warming and other climate change is most certainly due to people. As is the bullshit of climate change denial.

17   Y   2017 Mar 17, 5:51am

USPS does not suck. They do a fairly well job of delivering what you mail/ship.
They only appear to suck because UPS and FedEx are around to compare them to.
No UPS? No FedEx? USPS would appear to be the greatest thing since sliced bread...
It's like saying silver sucks because gold exists...

I was referring to your position that people can't fix global warming, in contrast to your statement here. Is this how Global Warming belief persists? Ignoring context while making contradictory statements?

No, that's truth. How do global wars happen without government? How does the Holocaust occur without government? Pol Pot, Stalin, Mao, all killed because government was backing them. Police brutality..? Not without government! Brainwashed government pods who call government = anarchy doublespeak? Certainly don't exist without their government indoctr.. er education.

I never made such a statement. There are lots of material things we can do to limit, mitigate, and prepare for climate change. The first obvious thing is to stop making the problem worse.

Do you even know what anarchy is?

And if you're going to adopt the policy of "bad implementations of X mean that X should never be implemented" then apply that to capitalism, the military, the fossil fuel industry, and religion.

When I say we should never do X, I back it up with the reasons and evidence that X is intrinsically bad, not giving irrelevant examples of bad implementations of X.

It's not even worth my time debating such nonsense.

look at dmv... how about city hall?

You forgot the military.

The solution to bad government is to replace it with good government, not to embrace anarchy.

Came here to post this. UPS and FedEx are both terrible. I only ship USPS because they are the only company that hasn't lost or damaged a package I've shipped or received.

Reposting again. Stating that you don't have the reading comprehension skills to understand my thoughts is a factual statement not an opinion and is empirically true. Therefore, it is not an ad hominem attack. I am refuting your straw man arguments.

NuttBoxer says

Ohh wait, Dan really believes

You have no idea what I really believe, because that knowledge requires higher reading comprehension skills than you possess. People with such skills know exactly what I believe because I've been completely honest in detailing what I believe and why. And I continue to believe those things that no one presents a compelling argument against. Your posts do not constitute compelling arguments, or even arguments in the sense of debate.

@Patrick, you need to simply take away this feature from some users. I'm not going to cave in to these trolls and I'll gladly repost and bump this thread an indefinite number of times. I could easily write a script that checks the thread and reposts every time this post is deleted. That's what, 10 minutes of work?

In LA it's around 60%.
