I always thought of you let each province vote on being annexed into the USA as States, at least the western provinces would jump at the opportunity. Manitoba, Seskatchwean, and probably Alberta.

This goes back to the 90s when Quebec wanted to succeed.

Not sure if we'd be able to support them though, we're already in debt up to our eyeballs.

Although they do have natural resources, that's a win.

That's the rub: Canadian Supreme Court ruled back in the 90s that a province could leave the Confederation (As Canadians like to call it since Dominion is part of the country's official name imposed upon them by the Brits), but it had to pay up it's apportioned part of Canada's national debt in order to do so. Which back then was huge.

This is what really put a damper on Quebec's independence movement.

Eh, make our country more liberal? I'm out on that idea. We just control them as a different country as we have been. A place like Vancouver is probably not much different than Seattle given the proximity.

They also need to make it easier for Americans to visit if they want our money. They could boost their GDP by 10% by allowing American citizens with felonies and DUI's into the country. I think the case is toast, but theoretically Canada cannot let Trump in if fully convicted. And the fact is people make mistakes. Obviously not murderers but Canada has a strict border going in.

And no I don't condone DUI's, it gave me a kid I was never expecting to raise. But come on, one non-lethal DUI for say swerving a bit warrants banning you from a country? Canadians are drunks anyway. I have at least 5 buddies that cannot get into Canada. Big fishing guys too which is the biggie up there in the summer. Skiing/snowboarding in the West. Banff. Lots of lost revenue.

I'll visit, but really have no interest in any part of Canada being a part of the US. I think USVI would be better. Islanders are conservative down there. Uniforms in public schools. Everyone goes to church. Are there idiots, yup. But it would 100% be 2 Republican Senators and Probably 2 house seats? I don't know the permanent population so I could be off on house seats.

3 Provinces joining the US would be 6 blue Senate seats and a loss of the House. The large cities up there are all liberal. Think Minnesota and Minneapolis. Montana and the Dakotas are outliers because they have no major city.

We are the same way. Learned that from a Canadian.

You are semi correct. My DUI sister in law used my other sister in laws ID on a DUI conviction. Yeah.... that kind of person. US customs gave her shit, but she sorted it out and they let her in. BIL is Canadian so they go back and forth.

I know this is about Canada, but one of my buddies was fishing up in Canada and they were taking pictures. They were smoking weed out of an apple and US Custom searched them and went through their camera. It was drama, and one of my other buddies folded and said they were smoking weed. Everyone got searched. They got rid of it all before. But the one guy in the photo is not allowed into Canada and has a red flag on him entering the US.

Best part is he actually knew the US border patrol agent. Another high school friends brother.

We are more lenient than Canada though from my crossings. Obviously the southern border is open, so the US is generally not as strict by default.

Most people don't read anyway unless it's email. I know this is for a Canadian school, but generally doesn't much matter. The hockey players for sure don't read. As adults I'd say only 10% of the population actually reads books anymore.

The other thing is most of history is not accurate. Think slavery. Not Canadian, but most of the history of slavery is not what people think it was. Hollywood and cinema hyperbolized it. Most blacks at that time couldn't read or write. So it was leftie white people at the time writing it making the history of it. Free food, lodging and a job. Most would have died because of low intelligence. They were also assets no different than a renal property. Why tear it down or damage it yourself? Tangent over.

Also are they going to remove classic fiction books like Lord of The Rings? Where little people (hobbits) save Middle Earth from the dark skinned Orcs and Sauron with the help of all white fair skinned Elves and dirty white dwarves.

I also don't know what Canadians think inclusiveness is. Outside of the Nordic areas, it's probably close to the whitest countries on the planet. Black and dark skinned people don't like winter or white people except the properly educated blacks. By default DEI is dead upon arrival by design. You can't force it. They're a white country, just own it.
