Multi millionaires without wildfire suppression?

Too much $$, not enough brains? You’d think the banks would require it.

Yeah, I guess there wasn't a mortgage.

"DARPA and Area 51 HAARP/DEW have informed us that the right of way eminent domain destruction of Los Angeles has not completed its routine, so get your asses out of there while you can. Yours in the NWO."

Maybe he had a good reason, like being at a Diddy Party or something.

Has the main / Pacific Palisades fire spread to the east side of 405 yet? Looking at the google map, the Playboy Mansion (and the rumored tunnels around it) is a little over a mile to the east of 405. After that area is burned out, destroying evidence, the fire might finally be under control.

No, but we are talking a mile or less to 405 and Encino from the edges of the active fire zone. Also, Brentwood is a comprable sized suburb to the Palisades, is between the edge and the 405. Predictions are for winds to come back tonight or tomorrow.

Celebrity types all have multiple homes, ranches etc. The LA places are for when doing business in town, which is becoming less frequent.

So, does anyone know if a house is destroyed by fire and gets rebuilt, does it lose its Prop 13 cost basis?

From what I've heard...if the house is rebuilt within 2 years, the owner gets to keep the original cost basis. If it is longer than that then it is taxed at present value. With the amount of rebuilding that is gonna happen does anyone think they will be able to rebuild in the 2 year window ???

Just another reason to grab the insurance money and not rebuild.
