On this day 29 years ago, ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ was released in theaters 🦇

Jesus. I'm not a big movie guy but I've "watched" that movie a bunch. 29 years. Shit. Didn't realize it was that long ago. I'd watch that multiple times a day sometimes.... at that age.

Still have my NES and play occasionally. I gave my 2600 to a relative about 15 years ago. He was 16 and really into retro gaming.

Don't have kids I presume? It's 2 bags now. Back and front. We had it easy. My kids wear one on the front and one on the back. They do sports, but still, way more than I ever had to bring to school. Throw in an instrument if in band. My oldest was able to get approval to leave his saxophone at school. For whatever reason they didn't like the theft liability.

I told him to just tell the principle we'll pay for it if it gets stolen. He's playing Baritone Sax now which is just too much with school/sports stuff. He'd need an entire row on the bus. Doesn't have time to practice at home so it stays in his locker.

Haha! I was right at the cusp of this backpack stuff happening in high school in the early 1980's. Before backpacks, we just had some books, maybe, and a folder. Kept our arms strong.

I remember me and others taunting friends, "Hey, you going camping?" I remember one girl sheepishly replying, "Okay, my sister got me this for Christmas. I have to camp for a while."

Soon enough I had one too. This continued into university. And, we just found more things we needed to carry around.

I cannot prove it, but I heard a story about an Asian little boy at school falling backwards down a flight of stairs at school due to the weight of the pack on his back. Hilarious.

28 January 1986. Today 39 years ago the NASA orbiter "Challenger" exploded shortly after liftoff, killing all aboard.

We got homework that day, not a grief counselor in sight. And it they brought the TV in the classroom, too.

They brought the TV in for the OJ verdict at my school. I was kind of like WTF is this as a kid? Watching a murder verdict as a child.

Never seen it packaged like that. I've had my fair share though as a kid. That's gotta be mid 80's? I really don't know this one.

Watch an old "Astro Boy" cartoon that was made in the 1960s and set in the year 2000. It had flying cars, conscious robots, and living on the moon.

I used to read Archie comics as a kid and they were always shilling for Hostess products.
