And that farmer inherited everything he has.
166   DhammaStep   2025 Feb 4, 7:08am

I'm not convinced that the farmer's town doesn't have 20 American teenagers that would like to work outside and have some money of their own. If reporters did their jobs, they would ask him how much he's paying those illegals.

I knew an illegal guy who lived in Castroville, CA.
He worked in the artichoke fields, also broccoli. Maybe he worked in other stuff but I don't know.
He had a bunch of roommates living with him and all of them quit farm work to do something else.
Farmers/slave masters all complain but the truth is nobody really likes those working conditions.
Someone calculated strawberries make about 20,000 per acre profit.
Edit: While harvesting broccoli, he mentioned that they send the highest quality stuff to Japan.

Farmers have complained about farmhands getting "Saucy" about wages and conditions since the dawn of agriculture.

They seem to think they are more equal than other businesses and they're entitled to low wages regardless of the law.

The story said they pay $100 per day. Did not say how many hours worked per day.

CA farming is different than IL and probably FL with regards to illegals. Mostly family farms around me. They all do VERY well. You just run a machine for 6-8 weeks a year and then wrench on it to make sure all the equipment is good for planting or harvesting for 2 months part time work.

Some put in drainage to keep fields dry(er), but none that I know need illegals. One friend has 80k acres. Massive and most pristine barn building I've ever seen. They need about 3-4 guys to operate the machines and 3rd party vendors to move seed, fertilizer and harvested grain. Otherwise they're just lobbying most of the time, going to conferences and crap. I don't know how orange, almond and avocado harvesting works.

Everything is mechanized here in IL with farming. Don't need illegals for it. More service industry stuff like restaurant cooks, landscaping and basic labor.

I think a lot of the 'collapsing farms and businesses due to labor abandonment' are Mockingbird media and propaganda driven in the early rushes. All the various crews around my hoods seem to be business as usual so far.

I think it is going to be some time rounding up the criminal and military age males/gangs from many countries before they start going after baseline trabajadores, if ever. There are also a large Chinese soldier, Ukrainian and Middle Eastern contingents in the migrant hordes.

Guess what happens when a 1000-acre Lettuce Plantation fails for lack of low wage coolies?

Subdivide the land into 100 10-acre farmettes that have chickens, tomatoes, basil, etc. for families.

someone leaked info about an upcoming immigration raid in Denver area

wonder if it may have been FBI soy boys in the Denver field office who had advanced knowledge of this

or some senior career bureaucracy hack like a public information officer for ICE that had advance knowledge of the raid

Farming is unprofitable for very long time.
Common family's 25% budget should go towards eating best food and 0% towards addiction or pharmaceuticals, Doctors or stress/depression management.

10-15% of USA population(natives) should be working in agriculture sector to produce best organic food as small businesses. Large ag should be only for some industrial products not for daily staples for best health.

Also vegan and other stupid marketing FUD should be completely banned. We shoudl go back to healthy balanced diet many decades ago based on real science:

Need to go back when science books actually teach about good food:

LOS ANGELES — Federal law enforcement agents are planning to carry out a “large scale” immigration enforcement action in the Los Angeles area before the end of February, according to an internal government document reviewed by the Los Angeles Times.
The operation, which would be spearheaded by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, will focus on people who do not have legal status in the country or who already have pending orders of removal, according to the document, which was circulated among some federal law enforcement officials this week.

Amazing. We have enemies among TPTB in our own country trying to destroy our own country and own own justice system can’t or won’t arrest them and even better yet, hang them for treason.

I really don’t think this is going to change anything.

People forgo Maryland food pantry visits amid ICE enforcement fears

A food pantry in Silver Spring usually sees about 350 cars lined up on Randolph Road. In the past two weeks, they’ve seen about 100 fewer cars.

Pastor Abdul Sesay told News4 the pantry serves lots of immigrants. They don’t ask for names, addresses or documentation of any type. Sesay said he believes fears over ICE enforcement and deportation have led fewer people to seek help.

“We hear all those concerns from people. We have another location in Prince George’s County – the same thing over there. The concerns of the people – it’s loud, it’s audible,” Sesay said.

Too bad the Pastor didn't think the illegals had been deported...self or otherwise.

That is a very sad stat...only 50% want them deported? I think that means Patriotism is losing.

I see what Trump is doing as far as reducing government expenditures in 2025 so the annual deficit is no more than Biden's 2024 deficit of $1.9 trillion, which will be first year since 2001 that the annual deficit has not increased.

This news means that immigrants are going to have to rely on sponsors for financial aid such as for housing and food assistance, until they make reforms and restart funding.

https://news.bloomberglaw.com/daily-labor-report/dhs-freezes-visas-other-benefits-for-immigrants-paroled-into-us

The Trump administration has suspended immigration benefits for tens of thousands of immigrants admitted to the US under parole programs created by the Biden administration, including one for people fleeing the war in Ukraine.

A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson said the agency put an administrative hold on all pending benefit requests from participants in the Uniting for Ukraine program, as well as a similar program offering parole for migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.

Both programs required applicants to have a US sponsor. Many of those approved have since secured work permits and found jobs in the US. The benefits freeze potentially stymies their efforts to secure a green card or another status, leaving them vulnerable to deportation.

DHS dumped a container of catnip this weekend, when it cancelled a Biden Administration order to renew “Temporary Protected Status”—which gives people legal authority to be in the country without citizenship—for Haitians. (Last week, HHS revoked TPS status for Venezuelans.)

In the statement, Homeland Security reported that in 2011, 57,000 Haitians were eligible for TPS. But by July of last year, that number had clawed its way up to 520,694.

Time quoted nobody who spoke in favor of the move. It did, however, quote several outraged experts. Don’t they know how much crime and violence there is in Haiti?? Apparently, exporting Haitian chaos is the humane solution. Since there is so much crime in Haiti, they believe we should relocate Haiti’s criminals here, to small towns in America, to give the Haitian locals a breather.

I get how new illegals create drain on freebies n institutions, possible allow criminals who can do crime in usa.

But there is irony that British n French both used America as penal colony, they sent worst people usa.

Blackwater Founder Pitches Plan to Deport 12 Million Illegals with ‘Private Army.’

A coalition of seasoned military contractors, spearheaded by former Blackwater CEO Erik Prince and ex-Blackwater COO Bill Mathews, has presented the Trump White House with a plan to deliver mass deportations. The proposal, outlined in a comprehensive 26-page document delivered to President Donald J. Trump’s team before his inauguration, promises to deport 12 million illegal aliens by the 2026 midterms using “processing camps” on military bases, a fleet of 100 private planes, and a citizen-led “small army” empowered to apprehend violators, at a projected cost of $25 billion. The plan, seen by POLITICO and marked “unsolicited,” says deporting 12 million people within two years “would require the government to eject nearly 500,000 illegal aliens per month,” necessitating a “600 percent increase in activity.”
