What I want to know is why the frack we have a "Bureau of Electronic Appliance Repair" and a "Bureau of Home Furnishings and Thermal Insulation"!? There's so much ridiculous duplication between state, local, and federal (CARB anyone?) - no wonder this state is broke.

If they enforced the SSI rules and actually verified residency, they'd save millions. People claim that they live in Calif but live in other states, have direct deposit into their bank accounts. So ya'll are paying several hundred dollars each month for people who don't live there. Perhaps someone from the Bureau of Home Furnishings could peek in windows and see if there is evidence of people living there...

they could save a lot of money by dropping S-chip and welfare.
