I made a bet with a friend in May of this year that there would be more foreclosures in the United States in November 2010 than in May 2010. The problem is, there is no clear numbers out there based on the whole US. I can find stats based on certain cities, but nothing on the whole country.

Where can I go to find this data?

Fannie and Freddie have websites which list their foreclosures.

It's not an accurate count of the whole US because many are not in the Fannie/Freddie system, but it should be a reasonable proxy so you can know whether they're going up or down.

This seems to be the Fannie site for selling foreclosures:

realtytrac wants a membership, and homepath didn't help at all. Anyone have a membership to tell me the numbers? I signed up for a free membership about 6 months ago, so I would have to pay this time (thanks though for trying).

Do you guys feel the total number of foreclosed homes in america is up or down since May?

First you have to define your term "foreclosures". Are you talking about all homes somewhere in the foreclosure process, only homes already taken in foreclosure but not disposed of by the bank yet or both or some combination?.

Why are the windows installed before the sheathing in #35? It's been a long time since I did any construction but I've not seen this before.

The foreclosures I'm looking for are ones that the bank owns. Not Pre-foreclosure, or short sale.

Any other websites to check?

Anymore ideas?

Well I don't mind waiting for the numbers. I just want to see the trend from May to the most current month listed (even september is fine).

very funky stuff going on, per HomePath...

Data from RF

Kind of nuts to be asking for above the amount of previous price which went into foreclosure.
