I expect the politicians would tell you they don't have time to visit VA hospitals. Just like few of their kids have time to sign up for military service.
Did we get a sound byte from her, is she coherent, is she someone that has the mental wherewithal that is legally competent to make such a contribution?
I find it awfully suspect that a thousand Liberals did a whole lot of talking on her behalf and all we got was pictures, and narratives.
Quick someone get Katie Couric to ask her what book she reads or about Bush's doctrine.
Yes I'm sure the timing wasn't about her being ready, and wanting to come back. I think the timing worked out well for her. There was another big story going (the legislation), and to some extent overshadowing her coming back out in to the public sphere, which probably suited her just fine.
The timing makes good sense to me. Also good for politicians in general, that some things transcend all the bs.
Kubya my lord kumbya...
OK now just the schmucks on the left...

I'm sure you're saying that because the last person Katie asked such pressing questions of was also a brain-injured person who had been through a traumatic event (such as being tapped as vp nominee for no reason).
So you're saying that if Sarah Palin had been a brain injury survivor then McCain would be President today?

I'm happy that Gabby is doing so well, but this is all politics. If the politicians want to applaud someone, I can introduce them to a number of wounded warriors and disabled veterans that I work with on my volunteer weekends at the local VA Hospital.
