Why does everyone pull out the most extreme statements when debating?

Is it natural for people to always go to the extreme when debating an issue? I mean, comparing Obama to Hitler or Bush to Hitler. Comparing the war issues in Iraq and Afghanistan to the massacre of Jews in WWII.

Is it human nature to always go to these extremes to make your point. WWII was horrific along with Hitler and there isn't a comparison in today's age. The depression in the 1930's was bad but we aren't living through the same circumstances that our Grandparents did.

Hell, why don't we just start comparing the Wall Street protest to the French Revolution. That makes sense right?

Come on people.

Because for many that's the only way they know to MAKE AN IMPRESSION. And that's all they really care about.

This is the problem with giving speech to the underclass for free. It's word welfare that only encourages them to drone on about their miserable lives. We should let big business charge the underclass $50 per word. That would shut their blathering traps.
