It really does sound stupid and easy to fix. Shouldn't the tax code for people w/o SSNs be much simpler - ie, they pay a flat tax, no exceptions and no credits?
At the very least, this tax credit should not be available to people whose children are not proven to attend a local public school (if your kid goes to a private school you don't need the tax credit anyway).

Oh, and I'm not really saying Alien invaders are responsible, any more than the other poster was claiming that Obama is responsible - both accusations would be utterly retarded, of course. Like the other poster, I'm inserting my thank you into the subject for a completely unrelated topic. Alien Invaders landed on my neighbors lawn last night, for which I'm grateful - I've been complaining about them messing up my grass for years and they've finally listened.
