Ball, from Patterson, NY, said he planned to introduce legislation that would keep permit information private except to prosecutors and police.

Those Libs should be proud of them selves. NY will now have concealed, concealed permits. Kind of a wrong knee jerk response if you ask me. A better suited law, would be while anyone is free to request information. They are not at liberty to publish or reproduce that information in any way. You may feel free to post it or share that single hard copy as much as you want, as long as it is the original, while you are not allowed to make copies. But you may not post it on websites, or publish information in news papers.
But I guess it was too hard of a stretch to make that connection.

What I proved is that you have no grasp of technology and the founding fathers would not have dreamed of what we have today.

I know more about tech long before you took a dump in your diapers.

Again.. all your showing is your insanity in controlling people like a fascist and communist.

a defect of your generation...

I don't think so moron. Your arguments are weak and without merit. Your understanding of technology is myopic and your rhetorical application is wrong.

Long before most people by the sounds of it. Your out of touch, you dont know the different between a phone, cellphone and a smartphone. The founding fathers could not have dreamed of that progression.

You also compare antiquated technologies and inventions to modern day technology that people 250 years ago flying balloons would not have imagined. Why do you fight this? Your wrong, this was your analogy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connections_%28TV_series%29

Connections explores an "Alternative View of Change" (the subtitle of the series) that rejects the conventional linear and teleological view of historical progress. Burke contends that one cannot consider the development of any particular piece of the modern world in isolation. Rather, the entire gestalt of the modern world is the result of a web of interconnected events, each one consisting of a person or group acting for reasons of their own motivations (e.g. profit, curiosity, religious) with no concept of the final, modern result of what either their or their contemporaries' actions finally led to. The interplay of the results of these isolated events is what drives history and innovation, and is also the main focus of the series and its sequels.

To demonstrate this view, Burke begins each episode with a particular event or innovation in the past (usually Ancient or Medieval times) and traces the path from that event through a series of seemingly unrelated connections to a fundamental and essential aspect of the modern world. For example, the episode "The Long Chain" traces the invention of plastics from the development of the fluyt, a type of Dutch cargo ship.

Raw says

Privacy and safety is a tradeoff. Most people are willing to give up some privacy in exchange for safety.

I've heard that argument before.

Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both. -- Ben Franklin

Privacy and safety is not a tradeoff. Safety is inversely proportional to transparency, not infringement of privacy.

For a society to be safe, all government actions must be transparent. Invasions of privacy like strip searches are not necessary. For example, it is far more crucial to secure safety in Congress than in a prison since our government and our entire nation is dependent on Congress. Therefore, if strip searches are necessary to ensure adequate safety in prisons, then it is also necessary to strip search every member of Congress and every person entering Congress. Conversely, if Congress can be safeguarded without strip searches, then so can a prison. So, why do we strip search prisoners and not Congressmen?

We have security theater in our country. This is not the same thing as real security.
