I kinda think so. It was Bush's timetable. If Obama kept us there longer, he could be criticized for that, but this way he can easily be criticized as well, especially if (I should say when) reasons we supposedly should have stayed are publicized by republicans.
Was Bush's timetable that we pull out before the end of 2011? I doubt it, but this is something that I don't know.
My point is that it seems coincidental that Obama would time his ending of the war with an election. I don't have a problem with the war ending.
That's too bad because the Poles and Czechs would gladly take the troops and military bases.
I wouldn't be so sure about that.
I'll miss the Iraq War. It was like a giant cripple factory, turning otherwise useless members of the underclass into humorous targets of derision for us men of stature and merit.

If the homeowner isn't insulted by your offer...you didn't bid low enough!!!
Poles - yes (still). Chechs - no way.
Some republicans such as McCain are saying that Obama didn't try hard enough to negotiate a deal with the Iraqis, that is for us to extend our time frame.

We are out by the end of the year. I am going home tonight and getting drunk! I will be sitting on my couch thinking about the friends I lost over there and cursing the people who decided it was a good idea to go in.
Now, just get the troops the hell out of Afghanistan. Mission accomplished already, Al Qaida is no longer there. Who ever said we are in the bussiness of nation building. We have nation building that needs to happen in our own nation.
