As much as it pains me to say, the ~$700B/yr military is not the long pole in the tent wrt gov't waste.
At least it's something of a jobs program, giving young people job skills and helping us stay in the forefront of military tech.
Now, the rest of the Republican field is typically priapic about military adventurism, but that's why no sane person votes Republican anyway.
Health care in this country is actually a much larger waste. At $8000 per capita, half of that is rent-seeking, or $1.2T in price-gouging alone.
Ron Paul's glibertarianism doesn't have any answers for that.

"America has one last chance, and it is a very slim one. Americans can elect Ron Paul President, or they can descend into tyranny.
Why is Ron Paul America’s last chance?
Because he is the only candidate who is not owned lock, stock, and barrel by the military-security complex, Wall Street, and the Israel Lobby."
