Ten states are being granted waivers to free them from some requirements of the No Child Left Behind education reform law, with President Barack Obama explaining Thursday that the move aims to "combine greater freedom with greater accountability."

Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, Oklahoma, and Tennessee are the first of what could be many more states that will no longer have to meet 2014 targets set by the law.

This is how you undo shitty legislation from the previous administration.
So there's hope yet.

Obama will go down as the exceptional president. He'll make an exception for every state and company for any law or act, as long as they are with the Obama program. What good is regulation, if you can enforce it for some and exempt others?

NCLB was a crappy bill anyway. Kids stopped learning Math, History and reading, and instead have learned to master trivial and pointless riddles mind teasers. If they had to go back to an actual curriculum, they'll probably go from honor roll students to straight "F"s.
