Where is this RE agent open house thing at? Is this a RE agent sales / networking event?
Its called a 'brokers open house'. They do it for overpriced houses that are going to be impossible to pocket list/double dip.
I get emails from brokers about all these brokers open houses - they are THE MOST overpriced ones, thus require more marketing effort - more free cookies, more fluffly full color flyers. the world of sales is highlarious. lol.

It'a not a place.........Each office in an area has different days for "caravan" which is where all the agents go see the home that was just listed on the MLS. Sort of an agent preview before the public if you will. In my area Coldwell Banker is on Wednesdays, Century 21 on Thursdays, etc. If you see signs on a weekday, it's probably a caravan since most "open houses" that target buyers are held on weekends. They will let anyone in, at least I have never been turned away from one even though it's supposed to be an agent Caravan. Quite often they will have sandwiches, drinks, etc. too in order to try and draw in the agents to their open house. Free lunch if it's in your neighborhood and in walking distance LOL.
Yeah that's exactly what it was called. A Caravan. It looks to be a good way to see something first off and get a head start.
I've been seriously considering a home to buy on a nice size lot, where I would do a large remodel and addition to the existing house. Thursdays are apparently the RE agent open house day, before a new home goes on the market on the following Sunday. I stopped by to check it out early and walked in with all of these agents laughing and doing business talks in the kitchen. While walking through the place, I ran into an agent, and made some small talk about the potential and how my clients would really like the home.
Then I asked him, "Doesn't it seem overpriced to you?"
His reply, "I don't know. Everything I see is overpriced."
Hmmm....
