That is an awfully large house for such a small lot. I know some people like such things but in my mind that isn't much better than a condo.
Personally I think you'd be better off looking across Capitol in the Carson/Parkview neighborhoods. Houses are older and most need more work but the lots are at least 2000sqft larger.
That is one small yard. I'm not sure I want to be that friendly with my neighbors. Half-a-mill is a good deal? Only in California.
This was a 16 year old home in a small nice pocket. The home probably has minor deferred maintenance. It was in a quiet court location near public transportation and close enough to downtown SJ. Listing agent had a lot of disclosures ready and available and made every attempt to provide information about the home when I was there. I had to appreciate that.
The home itself was nice, small maintained low-maintenance backyard. Vaulted ceilings with a separate family area near the kitchen. New(er) carpet. Kitchen had corian counters with old appliances. Listed at 530k. I didn't see a lot of traffic when I was there. Bedrooms were a nice size and had decent closet space. Current seller had added skylights. Roof was apparently in good condition based on seller provided reports. Stucco on the exterior had some visible minor cracks that were not considered major issues by inspectors.
