Obstructionists REPUKES refuse to pass bill to help American workers fight back against China

Call your Congressman

NOW

John Boehner has declared the China currency bill, which passed the Senate with rare bipartisan support and 63 votes, “dead on arrival” in the House. Apparently the interests of multinational corporations to keep their labor costs low trumps the interests of out-of-work Americans. This House Speaker knows where his bread is buttered

When I was in Poland last year, I was talking with my friends their opinions of migrant workers from Russians, Ukrainians, and from Belarus and they were critical of them causing crime. They weren't being "hateful" (although there's an element of that based upon previous historical conflicts) or even racist but simply expressing a matter-of-fact observation from their point of view.

It's a mere observation that Latinos drive down the price of labor as effectively as (insincere) criticisms of outsourcing does (note that Obama and the Asian voters with their hands in his pockets are not going to do anything about H1B's or even outsourcing.) Just an observation. But if YOU want to make it about hateful racism, let's observe this: Look up the term "la raza" in google translation. They demand special racial entitlements due to race. And as I love to observe on this forum: the leftists are throwing white guys under the bus just to keep their worthless political party alive but the elites want to live in mostly white neighborhoods. At least with the comet cool-aid drinkers, there was hope that the comet would still be there after they passed on...

I wonder what the racial breakdown of Politicofact's zip code is. Tell you what dude, give us your zip code and we can look it up ourselves to see just exactly how racially enlightened you are. I agree with polish knight. Individuals may not be racist, or not to an extensive degree, but ethnic groups certainly are! Let me give you a very current example of racism that has nothing at all to do with white people or black people even.
My buddy is from Guam, a native Chamorro. His girlfriend's parents are very Japanese. My buddy is a great guy, generous and kind hearted, and has a great, high paying stable job. His girlfriend works as a flight attendant. After dating her for several years, he asked her parents for permission to marry their daughter.
They declined.
He wasn't Japanese, just a "dirty" islander.
Try broke up over it, but got back together when thy realized they didn't want to be apart. Two years later, their parents finally broke down and have consented.
They got married last weekend.

It's one thing to rail on about racists, and another to welcome a person of a totally different ethnic background into your family or into your home.
That's where the rubber meets the road.

My friend's father worked as a chemical company salesman. He sold acid (no yuks, that's what he sold.) He said that when he went to industry events and answered questions from Japanese about what type of acid to use, they would thank him and then quietly go and buy from a Japanese vendor across the hall. But when Koreans asked him and he helped, they bought from him.

And while that sounds bad, keep in mind that in the states the left encourages "women and minority owned" businesses to buy from each other or within their ethnic group. And hey, nothing wrong with that except for the double standard as they whine about right wing hypocrisy and racism. They take both of those to the sublime.

a noble profession.. and a very important one.. no acid, no semiconductors, no laptops, no iphones or ipads.. no global telecommunications. where would the information revolution be today without it..
On your main point, yes, this is why diversity programs doesnt work.

The problem with imposing tariffs specifically against Chinese products is that we'll simply import the same stuff from another third world country.
