Higher taxes to support pensions for government workers while pensions have all but disappeared for the vast majority of private sector workers.
Don't blame unionized employees for the fact that private sector pensions have "disappeared." Blame private sector employers for this travesty. Anything else is pure class warfare, envy and jealosy and you know it!
PUBLIC unions are the travesty and should not even exist.
They are not like private unions which are badly needed to fight for workers rights against management.
PUBLIC unions have bought the management (politicians) and now degrade the quality of life of all citizens and make business conditions worse by constantly raising taxes.
This "for the kids" schtick was a complete crock.
If that is the case, that's not what prop 30 was intended to do. Then it should be repealed. We have the power to.
PUBLIC unions are the travesty and should not even exist.
Because.... public workers never have workplace complaints, bad management, contract issues, or feel a need to negotiate as a group. Right. Workers are workers. I work for the state of California for 5+ years now and it's not the paradise folks in private employ seem to be imagining of late. Grass is not greener here. Anti-union bigots will not be happy until all vestiges of union are destroyed and we can go back to 60-hour work weeks with no vacation or sick leave.

Your altruism will be rewarded with more talents whom we will create, develop and foster with the funding. This will attract more talents who will no doubt contribute to creating companies like Google, Apple, Intel and Microsoft. A job well done.
Now, we need to make sure the money will be spent on our kids.
