There are things that the public absolutely needs to know about our government. Without whistle-blowers, the society our children live in will be worse than the worst part of Soviet history.

The public, not the government, is the only body capable of making the moral and ethical judgements needed to keep government under control. And the public cannot fulfill this responsibility without knowledge. Whistle-blowers are the only way we can get this information. Your personal security and our national security are dependent on whistle-blowers.

We cannot trust a government that says that water-boarding, genital electrocution, and being ripped apart to death by attack dogs is not torture. We cannot trust a government that uses drones to attack and kill civilians including children as young as newborns. We cannot trust a government that uses secret prisons and is actively prohibiting the right of Habeas Corpus of innocent persons.

Absolute power leads to absolute corruption. And the NSA is practicing absolute power of information.

Ron Paul has called him a hero, president Boehner called him a traitor. That doesn't surprise me, he does work for Obama's boss.

Ron Paul has the respect of many people because of his civil and human rights record, including people like me who completely disagree with his economic policies.

Boehner does not have the respect of anyone who isn't a Marvel supervillain.

All the police and FBI agents involved should be arrested and prosecuted for obstruction of justice and conspiracy to obstruct justice, and interfering with a criminal investigation. That's exactly what would happen to any civilian who acted like these criminals have.

The next superhero that Marvel or DC Comics comes out with should be a superhero who just goes around incinerating the criminals actin within governments. OK, maybe an anti-hero. Just give him the power to read minds and inflict spontaneous human combustion.
