(Don't give me any crap about the supposed Jews in his family tree: there weren't any within 3 generations up the ladder.)
Pre-crime sounds like a good idea. Why don't we register all males in each municipality, seeing as only men rape?

There is nothing wrong with profiling. It's just survival.
You see bunch of hooded blacks commit crimes, you are going to give a hooded black guys an extra look. You probably won't profile a white or a black man wearing an expensive suit and a tie though.
It's just common sense.
I was the victim of violent crime twice by a total of three black guys.
I profile like a mofo.

Criminal profiling is based on psychological, geographical, and typological measures. The latter is based on known statistics and case studies. I have no problem with profiling.

I profiled a white guy the other week. He looked drugged and up to no good when we were in a nice area. I clutched my purse tighter when I walked by him.
I have been profiled at least twice in my life, the only two times I have had involved in unpleasant run-ins with law enforcement (not including traffic stops).
As a young, long haired white male, I have been profiled as a drug smuggler once and a burglar once. When a cop had profiled me as a burglar, I did stand up for my rights, and refused to let him search a bag I had in my possession without a warrant, which seemed to surprise the officer. And I have nothing against cops, but was quite offended to had been mistaken for a burglar, and wanted to stand up for my rights. This was North County San Diego in the '80's, and the policeman was a local sheriff. If it was LA, I would have likely gotten the crap beaten out of me.
When I was pulled over as a suspected drug smuggler, I had crossed into Texas from Mexico in my pickup which had California plates. I imagine I had fit the profile of a drug smuggler, i.e., enter Mexico fro California, pick up the drugs, exit in Texas. Again, I had nothing against the agents, but was a little pissed when they began unwrapping Christmas presents that I had bought in Mexico.
In actuality, I am a phi beta kappa member, and had graduated summa cum laude from a decent university, and had not engaged in criminal behavior.
If next to a crime scene one finds parliament cigarettes and a bottle of stoli, does it mean that possibly a russian was involved?

I don't blame you. The young white youth are probably the most fucked up and confused demographic in our society. They are programmed to fail and expect a reward for it when they do. While at the same time feel guilty and unworthy when they succeed. And God forbid they bitch about their predicament, because they have also been taught. It could be worse...

Recent case of Zim vs Trayvon has brought up the long standing debate about racial profiling which is basically an idea where race is the only difference making determining factor in determining whether to approach/confront/apprehend the individual. However, there's a very common approach in criminology knows as Offender Profiling or Criminal Profiling. With this sort of profiling the goal is to "accurately predict and profile the characteristics of unknown criminal subjects or offenders." The 5 steps in generating the profile are:
"1. A thorough analysis of the type/nature of the criminal act is made and it is then compared to the types of people who have committed similar crimes in the past
2. An in depth analysis of the actual crime scene is made
3. The victim’s background and activities are analyzed, to look for possible reasons and connections
4. The possible factors for the motivation of the crime are analyzed
5. The description of the possible offender is developed, founded on the detected characteristics, which can be compared to with previous cases"
Notice 1, 3 and 5 where the focus is on type and nature of criminal act, comparison to "types of peole who have done the act in the past, victim's background is analyzed and description of offender is developed which is used to compare to previous cases.
Offender Profiling has been used to profie serial killers (which happen to disproportionally be white males) and dictators such as adolph hitler. Based on points 1,3,5 it seems to me like the profilers can easily use some aspects of racial profiling or racial profiling lite to build their composite of a suspect. Who is to say they don't already utilize this?
