After all Tyler was born in 1790!

Just to put it into perspective:
John Tyler was born in 1790. America declared independence from Britain in 1776.
He had a son in 1853 at the age of 63. That son, in 1928 at the age of 75, had a son! That other son is still alive today.
From when 10th president John Tyler was born in 1790 to now, the Tyler family has had 3 generations in 224 years. Most families have 8-9 generations within that same span.

Put it into more perspective:
- John Tyler was born when the USA was 14 years old.
- Slavery was abolished in John Tyler's son's lifetime.
- Tyler's son lived his life and interacted within the lifespans of Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Harriet Tubman and Pocahontas.
- Tyler's grandson was born before WWII started.
- John Tyler died in 1862. His grandson is still alive in 2014.
