Another good Wheatonism at 10:47 to 11:50. Unfortunately PatNet strips time span parameters from YouTube URLs, so you'll have to jump to this part manually.
"It's good to do things that are hard."
- Wil Wheaton
But seriously, Wil's right on target when he says anything worth doing is going to be hard. And doing work that is hard and makes the world a better place is itself a very noble thing, regardless of how society judges the importance of that task. I'm sure that keeping the sewer systems running is hard labor and has to be done right, but even though it will never get any glamor or recognition from the vast majority of the world, it keeps us safe from plagues and is a very noble profession.
He's also an excellent narrator of audiobooks. International bestseller John Scalzi uses him exclusively to narrate his excellent books, and the author usually includes an Easter egg snippet in each book where he mentions Wheaton by name. So does Ernest Cline in "Ready Player One," an excellent near future book that's also heavily about the 80s. I you haven't read it yet, you're in for a treat. One of the few books I've re-read.
Wil Wheaton? This guy?

Cool?
As far as SciFi goes he was only slightly less annoying than these two:

Wil Wheaton? This guy?
Wesley Crusher was an annoying character that was poorly written. Wil Wheaton the actor has proved his geek cred.

Point taken, the character does not the actor make.
The character Wesley Crusher should have been taken by the Borg.
1. Wheaton's Law - don't be a dick
How many times a day does Dan violate this law?
Not as many times a day as I violate your mother.

3. Obama should not have compromised on the Bill of Rights and should not have used drones to kill civilians.
