That is VERY damning as to who creates this situation in the first place...

What about the library?

43   FortWayne   2014 Dec 5, 4:12am

Jokes aside, this was still a tragedy. People getting killed by cops is not a good thing.

I got pulled over when I was riding my Kawasaki through the Mojave desert at about 140 MPH. The police converged on me and as soon as I saw the lights I pulled over and stopped.

They should be taking you straight to jail.

I don't think so, the Mojave desert? It was a residential neighborhood...

What kind of bike was that?

My understanding is if you are going more than 100mph or something like that, they take you straight to jail.

I too was not shot.

But I was young and acting stupid. Had I handled myself differently I probably would have had sore wrists at the minimum.

It's truly amazing that when you act civilized with police, you end up living.... There must be something to that...

Racist!

As a libertarian I strongly dislike the idea of police shooting anyone who doesn't bend over to their will. That's much more government authority than I like in my life.

I don't know what happened in Ferguson, but Eric Garner was murdered right on camera and police got away with it. We are just moving more and more toward becoming some fascist police state.

There is fault on both sides of this one.

But the overarching problem is that city of NY is charging exorbitant taxes on cigarettes. Other contributing factors are Minimum wage law, Davis Bacon laws, Affirmative Action, ridiculous licencing fees, ridiculous regulations, welfare, food stamps, section 8 housing, etc etc

I have always questioned if Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton were really preachers, since they
have no church.

When I heard Sharpton was a guest preacher at a nearby black church, I decided to check him out in person, and see what it was all about.

I sat down and the reverend came up to me -- I don't know why but maybe it was because I was the only white person in the church. He laid his hands on my hand and said: "By the will of Jesus the Lord All Mighty, and the will of God, you will walk today."

I told him I was not paralyzed. He came back and laid his hands on me again, and repeated the same thing. Again I told him there is nothing wrong with me.

After the sermon I stepped outside. Lo and behold, my car had been stolen!

They preach hate and racism. Church not required.

By the way, I hope you did not take the reverends advice and walked home. You would have lost your wallet too.

That's Ok. The money will be used for good purposes - drugs, alcohol, prostitutes and financing 7-11 robberies.

all these deaths due to resisted arrests.
solution: animal entrapment devices.
designed to safely subdue living flesh without harm.
every cop car should have a variety pack...

What the media ISN'T telling you about Garner is that he was a habitual felon, with dozens of arrests, several for the same thing these cops were trying to arrest him for the day he died.

Doesn't give cops a right to kill a man. On this issue for me there are just two sides. Either we as people have rights under the bill of rights, or government has them and can take them away any moment. Obviously I prefer weak government where we have rights instead.

Government policing is a slippery slope, today they kill a black guy, tomorrow they'll kill a white guy. And if there is no punishment, the line will keep on moving.

62   The Original Bankster   2014 Dec 7, 11:11am

theyre trying to essentially disarm and disband our domestic police.

it's scary to think WHY someone would be investing in something like this.

Garner's overweight fat body killed him while he was NOT following the directions from the cops and was resisting arrest.

Period.

I am not going to give it up man. You know how it goes, you give these people a finger and they take a whole arm. That's not just liberals, that's everyone. You give cops a right to murder black guys today, tomorrow they'll be murdering everyone else as well. It's a slippery slope.

67   HydroCabron   2014 Dec 7, 12:12pm

Huh: with no cops around, his fat body was just standing there. Then the cops show up, and his fat body decides to kill him. The cops did all they could to save him, but when a fat body decides to kill itself, there's nothing you can do.

Will they ever be able to explain why his body killed itself at that moment?

Garner's relatives should pay the cops a settlement for the distress they suffered trying to save a guy from his fat body.

(Garner's quote from the video- After telling the police officers, "Get away [garbled] for what? Every time you see me, you want to mess with me. I'm tired of it. It stops today.)

That's what killed him. "It stops today" It's obvious in the past he was more obedient, which is why he lived. When he decided not to obey anymore, he ends up dying.
Moral of the story.......don't fuck with the cops.

The cops followed protocol and did what they had to do. The "fat body" screwed up.
Poor McDonalds. They just lost their best customer.

Nobody's giving the cops the "right" to murder a black guy.

If you let them get away with murder today, they will do more tomorrow. It's human nature. It's how big government works, first they take away a few rights, later they take away more, and one day everyone wakes up living in a full blown dictatorship not even questioning how they got there.

I saw the video, to me that's murder and cops are getting away with it because they are authority without any authority to kick them in the ass when they do wrong.

Does someone want to answer that question?

They need each other, how can you have a police force without criminals. Same deal with wars how can you have an army with no enemies, IOW you need ISIS or Iran.

Remember our overlords create these enemies for our own good, other wise peace would break out. The next thing you know there would be deflation. As Father Krugman tells us we can't have that...

True!!! Somebody here actually has critical thinking skills...

Errc is right. You guys are literally cheering for the US to become more fascist.

In other words you want the way the citizens of the US view cops to be sort of like the way we sometimes seems to want the rest of the world to see the US ? Basically as a bully?

It's all about the "velocity of money". That car represented money that was stagnant. The thieves did the economy a favor.
