Amazon Locker is also a good idea, but they should have more of them. For example, many supermarkets are open 24/7. I wonder if the AmazonFresh program might be complicating Amazon's other deliveries, causing supermarkets to see Amazon as a competitor rather than a complementary business opportunity.

I find items are often cheaper on the manufacturers site, too.

Not to speak of the fact that if you do NOT have amazon prime, shipping times will be at least 2x what they used to be. It is now common that it takes 2 weeks or more for me to receive items ordered using the over-$49-is-free-shipping method.

I think the reason is two-fold: (a) they want to see if you might order one more item and send it in the same box (b) they simply want punish you and make you sign up for amazon prime.

It is true and is the same deal for other companies like Whirlpool or Nike. A major method to avoid paying taxes is offshoring of profits.
