hey, i definitely did not stop you from creating a new thread that is about real estate. go right ahead, but keep it in the "Misc" category please.

true, the primary focus of this blog will no longer be about real estate, but i'm very happy to have discussion of anything at all in the misc category.

Hmmm. True, only because there will be more posts about dems v pubs.

maybe by now most have realized the housing crisis ended long ago so it's no longer a exciting topic as it once was

The Kim Jong-un skullfucking, dismemberment/log-splitter threads will be hard to justify now, as the main hook for those is his NAR membership.

Well Patrick, and all who contributed, thanks for the blog. I lurked mainly but really enjoyed the lively and often very informative threads. Best wishes Patrick and all.

well. this is the sign I was waiting for. Real Estate crash dead ahead.

I'm not even joking. To be honest, it surprises me that the 'debt-can' has been kicked so far down the road that the wealth at risk is now broader than the worldwide real estate market, but nothing has changed. The middle class put its money in real estate - and that debt can't be passed on to new buyers without major changes in the lifestyles of young people.

It always has been a function of the baby boom distribution curve. The wealth of the boomers will not transfer peacefully. Soon they learn what socialism really means. All of the children take a piece...not just their own flesh and blood.

Paradise will be where there is water and self-reliance.

In other words...not in California.
