It's the Confederate Battle Flag... It's part of American history..
Get over it!!
It's a very ugly part of American history. The question is why some choose to glorify it?
defend the Confederate Battle Flag

Yes, the Confederate battle flag is a part of American history in the exact same way as the Nazi flag is a part of German history, and it should be treated in the exact same way for the exact same reasons. You don't see Germans waving the Nazi flag and calling it German Pride.
Instead, you see monuments to Nazi Germany, not to glorify it, but to remind the Germans of what they did so that they never, ever do it again. Monuments to evil serve this purpose, a reminder to never again allow such evil. For the same reason, there should be monuments to evil in the American south that show the KKK flying the Confederate battle flag. And these monuments should not glorify that flag, but rather remind us of the vile evilness of the American south's history so that the south never again does such evil. The Confederate battle flag is a symbol of shame.
DieBankOfAmericaPhukkingDie says
Real Confederate patriots would not only fly the KKK flag but demand in Congress every hour of every day that the 13th Amendment be repealed
They are too busy trying to repeal Obamacare.
Still no conservative is willing to defend state politicians flying the treasonous racist battle flag over state property? Wusses.
Thats because the vast majority of conservatives have no desire to defend what has become a racist symbol.
but hey...don't let that stop you from labeling 121 million people as wusses...

No need to press the 'play' button.
The opening frame says it all...
Good video on the Confederate Battle Flag.

The actual second and third Confederate flags were racist symbols from the start. The battle flag flown by racists was a racist symbol since the KKK made it popular by adopting it.
CIC glorifies it because he's a bigot. He neither admits or denies it because he's a coward.
CIC ran away from this discussion even faster than he ran away from Florida.

So is John Wayne Gacy, and we shouldn't frame his picture for display in front of a statehouse.
Everyone at the party was waiting for you to show up
How could I show up at your house when you cowardly never gave your address?
Still no defense of this flag or a refutation of the real history of the flag.
Really, are you saying that you gave me your address? I must have missed that post. Repost it now or shut the fuck up.
If that coward CIC wants to post anything in this thread, it had better start with his address. Until then, all conversation with him in this thread is over.
To repeat myself, I said that if you gave me your home address, I'd show up on July 4. You chickenshit out of that. I did see family up north, but not in NJ. I could have driven to NJ, but why would I unless it was to photograph the shithole you live in for all of PatNet to see?
I told you, tell me when you're coming, I'm ready to meet. I'm in Ocean County... Name the place and time...
Your home address on July 4, 2015. Just reply with your home address. Actually, scan and post your driver's license because I think you'll lie about your home address.
The Sand Creek massacre (also known as the Chivington massacre, the Battle of Sand Creek or the massacre of Cheyenne Indians) was an atrocity in the American Indian Wars that occurred on November 29, 1864, when a 700-man force of Colorado Territory militia attacked and destroyed a peaceful village of Cheyenne and Arapaho in southeastern Colorado Territory,[3] killing and mutilating an estimated 70–163 Native Americans, about two-thirds of whom were women and children.

This flag is a symbol of genocide:
Good video on the Confederate Battle Flag.
Useless without banjo music in the background.
Think this is the Confederate flag?
Well, you're wrong.
The Confederacy had three flags and none of them look like the one being waved about by racist assholes. The first Confederate flag is this.

This was called "The Stars and Bars" and was abandoned because it looked to much like the American flag. The seven stars represented the confederate states. Yet, the south does not hang this flag.
The second Confederate flag is this.

This was called "The Stainless Banner" and the large white part represented "the "supremacy of the white manâ€. Nothing racist about that. Nevertheless, this was a great flag for the confederacy because it looks so much like the white flag of surrender, but the rednecks didn't like that so...
...they created the third and final Confederate flag which was

Now, if the racist Southern assholes really wanted to wave a flag that meant "southern pride" and "independence", this would be the flag they would wave, but it's not. No one waves this or either of the other two actual flags of the Confederacy.
So why not? Is it merely historical ignorance of southern white men? Nope. You see, there is a reason why the false "Confederate flag" is flying about all these government buildings, and it has nothing to do with history, or independence, or southern pride. The flag they are waving is the Confederate Navy Jack.

Whether in light or dark blue, this is the battle flag of the Confederate Navy. What, you didn't know navies had their own flags? Yep. Here's the flag of the U.S. navy.

Real spiffy, isn't it? But when was the last time you waved this flag to celebrate American independence or American pride? Did you fly this flag yesterday on July 4th? Do you even own one of these flags? I didn't think so. So, why are all allegedly non-racist rednecks flying the Confederacy's equivalent navy flag?
The entire reason the South fell in love with the Confederate Navy Battle Flag was that the Klu Klux Klan, the largest and most influential terrorist organization in American history, adopted it as a symbol that the KKK was still fighting the Civil War and was waging war against "the negro race". Yep, that's why everyone who flies this flag in the South does so.
Sure, not every southerner was a member of the KKK, but almost every one of them supported the KKK in every way possible including not prosecuting, inditing, or convicting KKK terrorists who committed acts of rape, murder, and terrorism. So yes, the South supported terrorism and this flag is a flag of those terrorists. In other words, flying a Confederate Navy Jack is no different from flying an ISIS flag. Should it be legal to fly them? Yes. Should politicians be able to use the power of the state to advocate terrorism by flying these flags over state property? Hell no.
