Yes, it would.
What's the real story here? And is there a better way to track "real" unemployment in the USA? I'd be interested to know how Trump expects to track unemployment if he becomes President.
There are a host of other indicators......."Jobs created" is a good one.
As I anecdotal posted the past few months...nearly 100% of applicants for entry level clerical positions where I work hold bachelor degrees.
I only partially know how the numbers are fudged. But they're fudged big time.
Yes, it would.
It's good to know that our govt is totally transparent.
I'll make sure to believe the Birth/Death numbers from the
Bureau of Lying Shits.

Unique active resumes should be reported as well as any application submitted.
I would wager only a third of them count
This was very helpful, thank you guys for sounding off.
During this election, I will listen to the unemployment debates with a different ear than I had before.
Gentlemen and ladies,
One metric that I often hear when it comes to evaluating the performance of a president, political party, or state of the economy is the unemployment rate. It is probably as utilized a metric as anything out there.
Recently, the Trump campaign has been challenging the truth behind the published unemployment rates. His camp has been saying that true unemployment rates are as much as 3x higher than advertised. The reason being is that people who can't find work for extended periods of time fall off the unemployment tracker. Additionally, how do you treat the unemployed that don't want to be employed and aren't seeking employment?
